That was probably the single worst episode of hour long television I've ever seen

I mean they go to Space Africa? come on

Lets not forget the space irish they picked up that one episode.

Yeah but that was like, a lost human colony

on the other hand, the episode where they introduce the holodeck and Dixon Hill is boss as hell.

    Fuck yes.

    WE WANT THE ITEM

Basically, any episode that involved the Holodeck somehow threatening the crew was a classic.

The ship itself is cool, but what always strikes me as terrible about Voyager as a series is that the premise could actually have been really cool. It was just not executed well at all.

Oh, it wasn't so bad. Well, as long as you weren't trying to take it really seriously.

    Sometimes it was downright hilarious.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfGCJhoiMFY

...but, see, this is my point.

They have the whole set up of a state-of-the-art Federation ship flung out into parts of the universe that have never been explored before, totally alone, with limited resources, a split crew of Maquee and Federation, and what do they do with it?

    Klingons and Borg.

I don't know. It was kind of hard to tell really. Mind you they didn't go into great detail with their origins given the "women fighting in a pole cage with nail mittens!" thing they had going.

Funnily enough, in the script it wasn't supposed to be space africa.

It just so happened that the director was apparently a racist and an all-round sack of shit and got fired about half-way through production of the episode.

One of the best things about TNG and any Star Trek Series is its written by a handful of writers so there is something for everyone!

    Irish!

EDIT: Man, the trailer for that ep doesn't mention them at all. Just the whole "OMG Cloning!" plot. No doubt some folks were surprised to see Riker get a little frisky though in that ep. :winky:

You know why the first season was so bad? Half the episodes were originally written for the original Star Trek series. They just changed the character names and basically crammed the same idea into the TNG universe.
