It feels rather forced compared to Gillen's writing between the two, where Hope is much more accepting of Cyclops being tougher and more protective of her because that's how she grew up and Scott is pretty much her grandfather. Even Asmus was able to get this across a year ago, that she was special so she can't be running off like that. Forced conflict for the sake of plot, maybe making Hope not want to take the Phoenix and runs to the Avengers.
The A vs. X-men 0 preview didn't seem that out-of-character for the two, at least for Scott. Hope clearly says she's a bitch in Generation Hope 12 so her acting bratty is to be expected.

Yep. Jean is usually seen as Nathan's mom because she was the one who raised him as a baby and in the future, so if Hope sees Nathan as her father, Cyclops is her grandpappy.

Well yeah, but that doesn't make me like her more.
I really just don't like a lot of Scott's half of the X-Men's direction. Hope is a jerk who thinks she is morally in the right about everything and Scott is basically NewMagneto who is holding people in his basement indefinitely without trial on his independent mutant nation with his Extinction Team made up mostly of ex-supervillains.
Yeah I think the two of them have a lot in common, really
Scott isn't suddenly Mutant Hitler or anything. He has just let the hard times of the past few years change him. He has made a bunch of compromises and, in my opinion, is worse off for it.
I am really interested on how the X-Men are gonna be structured after AvX.

I think he works a lot better in his current role of everyone outside of his team thinking he's evil because they refuse to acknowledge the reality of the situation. Because character growth is good, we need more of it, beats old pouches Cyclops who was unsure of himself, taking a complete regression compared to the Claremont days.
Cyclops wouldn't kill oodles of people in his current role like Ultimate Reed, he's not that far gone by a longshot (ha!).
Reed is definitely the more evil of the two, yeah.
Basically Scott is being a realist in a harsh world, which is a direction I understand but it isn't one I really like reading about. Which is fine since I am loving the way Wolverine's half of the family is heading.
I don't want Scott to do a full heel turn. Reed is perfect in the Ultimate U because he fills the gap left by Ultimate Doom, who was pretty meh. He is a villain who honestly has some decent ideas about things and is a lot more than just I AM EEEEVIL.
Normal Marvel U has both Magneto and Doom to fill that need. No reason to drag Scott down to that level.
Wait, what the hell? Cyclops never told Hope what the hell the Phoenix does to its hosts if they can't contain/work with it?
Jesus christ. Fuck it, he's gone full on super-villain already. You'd think having to put down his wife, having the cuckoo's go nuts and have the equivalent of their souls stripped away from them to contain it, and watching the Phoenix commit infanticide, amongst other atrocities, would give him an idea of how bad an idea that is.
Calling it now. The thing that's going to make Hope go crazy evil isn't all the bullshit she has to go through, it's realizing that Cyclops basically just set her up to be a sacrificial lamb.
This is assuming that the Immortal Iron Phoenix doesn't happen
it probably won't but I can dream

I wonder if they're going to explore Emma's newfound grudge with Jean and the Phoenix. Or if that'll get forgotten along with everything else.
I mean, she watched the Phoenix burn all of her children to cinders. Or that her three surviving kids are pretty much soulless automatons now, that she has to work with every day. Nevermind that she's probably pretty much incapable of having kids now because of that whole debacle.
Going off of that last line she gave, one assumes she's got one hell of a psychic assault ready to go the moment either Jean or the Phoenix sets foot on Earth.

I like where Cyclops is going and don't consider him a villain
Hope, who is a great character, is morally all over the place. I wonder what they will do with her
If she became a villain, I would applaud such creative courage

Hope just hasn't really had the success Marvel intended her to have; she's this new character who's kind of a mary sue, and the repeated teasing with Jean and the Phoenix feels less like a interesting idea and more of a "well, here we go again" situation.
I think I'm just going to start reading UXM from issue 5 onward and trade wait the first arc. Will I be missing anything big?
I'M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU!!!

you know, I have to give the colourist/editor/letterer credit for making Uncanny X-Men #6's cover look like something old and almost Stan Lee-ish despite Greg Land delivering Orgasm Psylocke Barbie front and center

He traced it from Orphan Maker or those Cameron Hodge robots from the 80's X-Factor (whichever one had the smiley faces on them).
And from what I've seen of the Avenging Spider-Man #4 issue, it looks like Land is tracing Kev Walker's art for Hawkeye.

man I really want to find space for x-men legacy in my pull. Baldeon's art is growing on me, and I really like this friendship Gage is taking up between Rogue and Rachel Grey.

WatXM #5, that was an issue that really showed how 20 pages can hurt a book, as it cuts off the interesting Kitty story for a connecting four page new villain reveal that just stopped all the momentum of the book. It was something I expected out of a DCnU book, to be honest.

Frank Cho needs to fix his Cyclops.
which is sad because i normally like cyclops
Oh hell, mutant Elian Gonzalez.

Though that would never fly in the regular U

Sure, but Reed wasn't evil until he was evil, either
I was just saying it would have been fun to see Scott turn villain

But Widget shows up for two panels, and a really good Frazetta joke is delivered.

Telepathy, depending on how it's portrayed, can also kind of be like a fist fight
If, a stronger telepath (ie Jean) wasn't expecting an attack, then they might get sucker punched
This is the truth of the situation, which is why I keep wondering why people think Cyclops is a villain.

Since Jen isn't a part of an Avengers team it kind of solidifies that AvX is pretty much The X-Men vs. Everyone who is not an X-Man
which is something I am okay with since the Avengers have been slowly moving towards that over the past few years with the expanding rosters.
It's not even like she is lying there and looking happy and hoho she could be getting off
She looks pretty much exactly like she is having an orgasm. Crossed legs and everything.
Jesus Christ Land, why are they still paying you
