Anti-virus software for Macs (SOLVED)

Everytime I open certain webpages (gmail, google video, youtube occasionally, webpages that have embedded videos) on my macbook my internet freezes and I get the spinning rainbow wheel and have to force quit firefox (or safari if I'm using safari). It also freezes when I open a page. Any page.
I think I might have a virus.

Does anyone know a good (and possibly free) anti-virus software for macs?
Or, even better, does anyone know why my internet is throws a tantrum whenever I use the internet?

sounds like RAM issues more than a virus.
