I have a core 2 E6600 running at 2.4Ghz and a GTX 260 is this going to run like dogshit because of my CPU? I plan on upgrading sometime soon, but I'd like to save some more cash. I'd like to run this game on decent settings at 1680x1050 and a little AA if I can manage it.
My computer handles everything else I have just fine, but I'm rarely right on the min spec for CPU.

I have the same processor and resolution, but an 8800GTX instead of your 260 (aren't those two cards fairly close in terms of performance?), and the beta ran perfectly fine. I hear the full version will even have some more optimizations. I had settings on high, lowered a few down to medium to compare performance and visuals, and it still looked great while running well. Even at medium, the game does look better than its console counterparts.

Cool, it's actually a GTS 250, I was confused, but yeah they are both pretty close to the 8800 series, so that's good to know. I can pre-order it finally, after the stupid beta is over of course.

If that is your benchmark for "not running like dogshit", then you may be a bit disappointed. Your computer will run the game just fine, but your CPU is almost 4 years old and the GTS 250 is an older chip. I'd say you either need to upgrade your machine, or downgrade your expectations little.
Well like I wrote, CarbonFire, I ran it well. I put everything at medium save for textures which I left at high (still looks WAY better than the console versions, even if I lowered textures to medium), and it was smooth most of the time. If the full version runs even better, I see no reason why he would be disappointed.

The game ran fine on my OCed e8500 Dual Core and 2gb 4850 X2, with 4 gigs of RAM.
Ran like a charm, really.

I love that ad. Gonna download it in 720p when I get off work. I wonder if that map is Arica Harbour. Looking forward to playing in some dirty ass towns and blowing the crap out of people. The ad is total chaos, I hope we can somehow replicate it.

The only game I own that I can't run at or near max settings at 1680x1050 is Far Cry 2 (GTA4 doesn't count because it's optimized like crap and super CPU bound) and I can run FC2 with just about everything on high and step the resolution down a notch. I don't own Crysis however.
I understand there is a lot more physics stuff going on in BC2 than your average multiplayer shoot which is why I was concerned about my older CPU, but my computer isn't far off what a lot of people are gaming on these days. So expecting a game that runs on consoles to look a bit better and run smooth at a higher res on my PC shouldn't really be out of the question.

If I were you, I'd go for at least a 3.0ghz dual core if you want to run BC2 on good settings. Something very important about the way the game operates, is that it uses your CPU for the dynamic sound. And sound is a big part in this game.
I'll upgrade to a quad core before too long, and I guess I could always overclock my current CPU a bit. Also doesn't it support sound cards for dynamic sounds?

I think it does, but it still needs some processing power for it.

All I know is, an overclocked Core 2 Quad with a three-year-old video card runs it like champ even before beta optimization patches.
Running on a dual-core laptop with a Quadro NVS 140M, laptop shuts from from overheating in about seven minutes.
My Bad Company 2 beta experience ended on a pretty sad note.
For example, "I can ADD you to a reserve slot list on a server for BC2 that we ordered."
and
"This post could be considered an AD for a PA BC2 server."
I just popped in Bad Company 1 to pass the time, and I've never played Conquest mode on it to so I'm giving that a try. The game is still a lot of fun, but damn Bad Company 2 is way better. I can't wait for next week.

The best thing about this ad is not only is it awesome, but that everything in it can and does happen
And yeah I hope some of the more urban maps are popular, I love the house-to-house combat in this

being able to call in airstrikes as shown in those squad stories looks way cooler than mortars

Must have watched the 1942 intro quite a few times.
The only intro video I didn't skip every time.
God I loved that music.
It'll have some variation of the theme. Every BF game to date has, and EA would be beyond stupid to not invoke that bit of Pavlovian conditioning.
Edit: I guess BF:V didn't have it? Never played BF :V:oops:
The game just has the two factions correct? Russians and US?
t Sladvan: From what we've seen so far, that's how it looks.
