I really like the idea behind MW2, just not so much the execution. I hope rumors of valve working on a CS2 are really true, because I think that applying all that they've learned in the terms of leading players towards certain behaviours, UI design and just general FPS design would make for a really interesting take on the small scale tactical fps

it's Mihn "Gooseman" Le's (original creator of CS) new game called "Tactical Intervention" under a korean development house that he started when Valve made clear their intentions to never make a game unless it invloves zombies or silly hats or zombies with silly hats. It's also supposedly slated for a Q2 release this year.
I really hope it goes well for him. I also hope that it'll wake Valve up to either make a for serious game or make Counter-Strike 2 with silly hats enabled.
edit: Dusda, beta is over.
here's hoping they fix the server browser and/or quick play CTD that made me unable to play in the beta.

IGN reviewed the game and gave it an 8.9. Frankly I think the review is a little too reserved, and from what I saw of the demo alone it deserves at least a 9, and probably far more. Ah well I dont care about reviews anyway, nobody does.
Also he gave the sound 9. Its the best sound ive heard in a game.
I hope this has an awesome version of the main Battlefield theme. If it doesn't I will be disappointed. Not much, but still disappointed.
The game just has the two factions correct? Russians and US?
So far. I think they had some MEC crap like the Black Eagle tank in the "Tactical Field Manual" stuff that went missing a while back. Quite possible as DLC if nothing else.

Just watched some of a stream on /v/ where the guy was playing singleplayer. Was awesome.
WANT GAME.
He apparently had problems with the pacing of the single player, it was too action-orientated with not enough tension. Im just curious what hes comparing it with tho, its closest peer's campaign had the pacing of a 11 year old cokeaddict having a siezure.

Playing Battlefield for single player is like... I don't know. It's just all wrong.
Though, I finally watched a bunch of trailers for BC1, and damn if they aren't great. If we're losing that sort of humor in favor of SRS WAR BSNS that BC2 is supposedly embracing, then that's a goddamned shame.
from what ive seen the humour is stil there, just more appropriate and subdued. Hell I find myself chuckling at some of the lines of dialogue I hear in multiplayer.

The multiplayer dialogue is really what raises this above other games IMO. It sounds a lot more natural in terms of what people might actually say, as opposed to things like COD4 where it sounds more scripted.

I think so. I havent been able to connect to the PS3 demo servers since the PC beta ended.

BF:V itself didn't have it (licensed music woo!), but the official WWII mod for it had a remix. Admittedly they didn't change much, but hey.
