Ok, I am in my third year of a maths undergrad course, we have been given a book to read and questions to answer as one module:

Only it is fucking hard. D:

So, I am struggling, and like all great slackers figured I would see if any of you were well versed in this shit and fancied lending me your brains.

I have to do a bunch of Q from chapter 2, so will start with one from there:

f is a 2pi periodic function in the class C^k

show:

Fourier coefficient f(n) = O(1/|n|^k) as |n| -> infinity.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh etc.

    I think people may be more inclined to help if you perhaps give this a go first and show that you're not simply looking for someone to do your homework for you, teslan.

    There is the confusion, since that is exactly what I am looking for :p

    I am not sure how well I can translate this scrawl onto here. I'll have a go and post it

    (I am not actually asking for solutions btw, what I was asking for is advice on where to start and how to think about it. But meh)

    Edit:

    Well, have handed the work I could do in. Decided it wasn't worth the time to try and get my working on here in a legible form. Anyone know a way of effectively (quickly) typing with mathematical language on here?

    Might try and get more help with next weeks problems, only a bit earlier so there is time to type and read etc.

    Open up ms paint and write your freehand on there? That or scan your notebook paper.

    Use a LaTeX editor. There's some online. First hit on Google:

    Holymoly, what thing. Thanks for linking me to this.

    Sorry original poster, I don't know shit about Fourrier equations.
