You know...one thing I don't understand about ME2 is why don't we have the ability to press the Left analog stick to crouch anymore?

I think that would be far more useful in ME2 than it was in ME1.

Because it's much more a cover based shooter. You don't need to crouch when you're supposed to be in cover.

What if we want to crouch while we're in high cover?

My questions rarely get answered here, so I'm sorta just posting to see my sweet sig again....

...But i'll ask my question anyways.
After doing purgatory, you get a message from 'Billy" and he thanks you for getting him out of Purgatory, but he says he's coming to kill Shep. Do you ever run into 'Billy' in ME2?

However, there were times when crouching would have been useful when getting to cover.

Which is why I'm still confused about it. Though, I'm thinking it may have interfered with the gameplay somehow.

Pretty brutal shot at Valentines' Day, although I can say I'm displeased by it. :D

“Many human planets and colonies celebrate St. Valentine's Day today, a holiday themed around romantic love and the greeting card industry. Prospective or established mating partners exchange love notes with one another, and some add gifts of cut flowers, jewelry, or sugary confections in the hopes of receiving sexual favors. Industry insiders estimate over 2 billion Valentine messages will be sent this year on Earth and an additional 5 billion throughout the human colonies. The holiday is rapidly spreading among the asari and volus, who embrace its unusual mix of commerce and reproduction.”

I always found the purgatory bit of the game weird
like, there's no way my Shepard would just release all these mega dangerous psychopath criminals on the galaxy, just to get Jack. I have 10 other people on my team. Jack is not that vital. And I'm supposed to be saving the galaxy, not adding to the fucked-up-ness.

If Jack wasn't one of the first 3 squaddies you get then you could do the game without her, but as it is you have no option to avoid this massively irresponsible and frankly retarded action.

and why can you only access cryo storage by opening EVERY cell on the station?

Were they really going to escape from that ship though? Were there other ships that were docked with Purgatory? Were the convicts escaping via lifepods or something? Couldn't the Normandy just shoot anything leaving the Purgatory? They all left their cells but it wasn't really clear how they were gonna leave the ship.

just with Jack going mental the way she does as soon as she wakes up. It just seems bizarre that the only way to get her out is to open every door. Why would they have a button that does that? That's crazy!

It's not the worst but it is pretty close to second as far as complete lack of logic go...
So, Mr Warden thinks it's a good idea to try and take prisoner the guy who is probably the most dangerous guy in the Galaxy while simultaneously pissing off a very powerful and ruthless organization like Cerebus.

An organization that has a fucking warship parked outside your station.

I just don't see how that is supposed to turn out a positive in any way for you. Do you expect them to take their warship and go? "Whelp, they got the Captain guess we should just quietly go home."

I really wish the resolution of that was you finding Jack, radio-ing Joker to just shoot every section of the station you're not on and space walk back to the ship.

There is also the issue that most of those criminals are not going anywhere. Fuck if I know how Billy gets away but they're on a station with no other ships. Supposedly some megacorp or something will show up and return order to the station, even if that involves just spacing all the criminals.

So it's not mass release, it's just likely mass murder.

Yea, my romance was Liara in ME1, and
she's hardly even the same person anymore. One kiss, then she goes right back to her personal quest for vengeance. If she gets pissed at me for going after Garrus/Thane (paragon/renegade playthroughs) I'm telling her it's her own damned fault.

    After suggesting a threesome.

I'd go so far as to say Liara wasn't even in the game. Yes there was someone called Liara, but she was nothing like the Liara I had in my team in the first game. Hell, she didn't even really sound the same or look the same.

One of the biggest failings of ME2 in my opinion, I know a lot of people didn't like the old crew, but I thought Liara was cool.

    qft

    DARKER AND EDGIER
I know it's a little petty, but I was annoyed she had gone all hard-boiled because the shadow broker killed some guy I never met. Hello? LOVE OF YOUR LIFE STANDING HERE? DIED, CAME BACK TO LIFE, ETC? You didn't go all hard-boiled over me, girl. AIN'T I WORTH YOUR TOTAL PERSONALITY REWRITE OR WHAT?

    That's not the whole reason.

    It's easily missed though.

Ah, I failed that subquest. Now Liara makes more sense! Thankee.

The loadscreens seem to take FOREVER in ME2.

I even installed it to my 360. :(

It really annoys me that even with installing you have to swap discs. Damn it, you can have just as much space as you want if I don't have to get up off my couch!

That's a Microsoft requirement IIRC. Not quite sure what the reasoning is behind it, can someone else explain? Is it an attempt to keep people from sharing the discs and playing simultaneously or something?

If I remember correctly, each disk install to the Xbox harddrive ends up in some ways being treated as a separate game, and you have to have the disk for the game in the console when you play it even if it's installed to the HD, that's the xbox's DRM (simple disk check, like on PCs).
As a result the Mass Effect 2 disk1 game and the Mass Effect 2 disk 2 game both need their own disk in the drive in order to play.

Forza Motorsport 3 is also Multidisc, yet there's no swapping there?

Their second disk was a little weird if I recall correctly, it was basically the main game on the first disk and the second disk had what were basically DLC packages.

It's a neat idea that skips the need for disk swapping but that approach wouldn't work with Mass Effect 2 all that well.

Hey Juc, how much can you tell us about the contents of each disk? Like which missions, areas etc are stored on which? Normally I have to switch over just after Horizon, when I go for Jacob's loyalty mission, and then don't switch back to Disk 1 until hitting the Omega Relay. What's the scoop?

    You gots a choice.
Either kill Jedore first, so the Krogan stop respawning, or kill all the Krogans, then the YMIR then Jedore.

It's not a walk in the park, but it's do-able.

If you want to cheese it though, simply go back to the room with the stairs and cheese it from there, though that diminishes the whole thing by a bit.
