PS3 Help (XMB Stuck in 480p) *Resolved*

I just picked up a PS3 slim, and as the title says, I cannot get it to output anything other than 480p over HDMI. When I go into the display settings and try to select the other resolutions, The screen goes black for 30 seconds and eventually comes back still outputting at 480p. I have tried resetting the video settings, but it doesn't help. The system is fully updated (3.15). I have no problems getting my 360 to output at 1080p, so I do not know what the problem is... Any suggestions would appreciated.

EDIT: For those curious, I borrowed another HDMI cable from a friend and it appears to work, so it apparently didn't like my cable.

I am having the same issue! It seems like the PS3 unit only puts out 480. Yes, my Sharp Aquos can read 480, 720, 1080p, 1080i. I try to change the display settings but it doesn't seem to switch to the HDMI output. So, literally frustrating. The system doesn't seem to reset itself when I hold down the on/off button for 5 secs upon start-up. I've been working on it for two days. Back it goes tomorrow.
