So, I'm a bit depressed right now. It comes and goes but I just had a really slow day where I worked late and didn't really have much to come home to...
What do you guys do to make these days better? I know there's the avenue of discussion of actual depression and such... but I feel like I'm just having one of those days. I don't really feel like hopping on Dragon's Age, Mass Effect 2 is done... no one is on WoW... It's too late to go out... and nothing is on TV. I'm not tired enough to fall asleep...
i find cuddling with a kitten or puppy helps, and that would also give you something to come home to (if that is an option)
watch fun happy movies, do something fun for yourself and take extra time on it (i paint my nails recently). go for a walk, enjoying how beautiful things around you are.
I ended up watching some Good Eats, something about Alton just makes everything better. It's just so true and face value. Wish I could watch more... wtb Netflix/Hulu. DVR will just have to do.
Also, in the past, I used to just force myself to get into something I wasn't sure, usually a game or a book. Once I was doing it it ended up swaying my mood. I guess I'll boot up Dragons Age.
I like to Dvr old movies and shows I liked when I was a kid. When I don't have anything else to do I'll start watching them and laugh at how horrible my taste was at the age of 8-15. Of course, most of the time I end up deleting it way before it's over. You can only take so much bad tv.

Generally speaking a DVD season set of a show I've been meaning to watch helps a lot
2. Sex. Or masterbation if you're not with someone.
3. Play Wii Fit+ if you've got it, I love that fricking thing. Or just go jogging or whatever.
4. Talk shit with someone, I just finished talking about how bad Avatar is with a pal at last, its so uplifting to get the Dances with Wolves/Fern Gully in space and "why can't tribals save themselves?" off your chest.
5. Most importantly, don't sit at your computer all day or your despair will eat your soullllllll.
Crank up the tunes and clean the place is what I do when I end up in a funk. Broke up with my Fiance after 3 years yesterday, and now my place is cleaner then it has been in ages. Nothing like the feeling you have done something worth while to get one back on track.
Cooking is a really good way for me to relax, and plus you get to enjoy the product of an incredible meal. I'm sure if you say some of the things you fancy we could all give you some simple yet fanciful recipes to suit your palette.
I find that my mind is in the most disarray when my surroundings are likewise, so as others have said cleaning and reorganizing can be good since you can sort of zone out and still accomplish it effectively.

When I get depressed or just mopey I try to find something to distract myself, doesn't matter what it is so long as I focus my mind on something else.
Got any good books you like to read?
Sometimes just playing a game I don't feel like playing anyways gets me feeling better.
Are your friends online? Why not bullshit with them?
and basically doing everything
This week has been somewhat of a shitpile

More generally, I find a few videos and images on CuteBreak.com will brighten up the darkest of days.
This suggestion doesn't seem right coming from your forum name... :S
The cutebreak.com pictures do help though!

Alton brown will cheer you right the hell up though, good choice. Actually trying a new recipe will make you feel awesome too.
