Can Penny Arcade Merch Ship to Canada?

I scoured (albeit lightly) through the Penny Arcade Merch. website and came across no answer to the most important question to a guy like me: A Canadian guy wanting to buy Penny Arcade Merch.

This question is simple: Does Penny-Arcade ship to Canada? I notice they use Yahoo Shop...are they good? Anyone have solid feedback? As fast as Amazon?

Thank you all so very much!

Yes they do, but the shipping and handling fees are crazy.

Haven't gone through with a purchase, so I'm not sure about their service.

Crazy S & H eh? That is most disconcerting. Are we talking like....even 50% more than the actual product? What general level of craziness?

Just try it out. Pick a couple of items from the store and add it to your cart, proceed with the checkout procedure. It'll calculate your total cost before you need to put a credit card number.

I think I was going to buy two t-shirts and it was like $20 S&H...give or take

The fees are a little steep. When I ordered my Black Mantle Hoodie the shipping fee was $18.95 for a $49.99 item.

On the bright side the shipping I paid at checkout was all I paid. The system they use for shipping is rather interesting. UPS ships the order to the border, and then hands it over to Canada Post to complete delivery. Ends up that you don't pay and duties or brokerage fees.

That's positive news. And how fast do you recall the service being? Were you snugly enveloped by the hoodie a week or so after purchase?

Even if the shipping is affordable, if they don't have the proper paper work, the duty can be ridiculous. I once ordered a $60 item from a site, they estimated it at $300, and charged me $60 in duty.

That is simply ghastly. I mean, I laughed, but in an exasperated, punch-in-the-gut kind of way.

So Canadians are just about out of luck when it comes to buying stuff from penny arcade? Is this harsh truth truly true?
Perhaps other outlets that have license to sell it? Not that I have been able to find anyway. I suppose I should be asking these things to Google. But Google doesn't have a blue background.

Find someone in the US to proxy for you? They buy the shit, mail it to you (marked as a gift to avoid customs), you PayPal them the cost of the shit + shipping + reasonable fee.

That's quite a good idea. I wonder if I know anyone that lives in the states. A relative or something. Seems like I should.

If they grossly overestimate, you can send it back and appeal. In my case, it was a rather embarrassing gift and I didn't want to deal with it, so I just paid the duty.

It was about 7 - 10 business days. UPS was quick. Canada Post wasn't.

    Nice hoodie too :)

Their customer service was also quite helpful in helping me understand how shipping worked. I haven't bought anything from Penny Arcade since, so I can't give you a second experience to verify the first. However the first experience was quite pleasant.

Well, at least I'll feel like a hardcore fan if I'm going around wearing a $300 Twisp and Catsby shirt :P

I live in the states and would happily help you Fosterdid. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Once thing I just thought of though, say you buy something and it costs $10 to ship instead of $20 for someone in the states. It's probably going to cost you another $10-$15 to have it shipped to you from the states. Depending on how the PA store puts the value it may or may not be worth it.

I pinky swear that we will not screw you.
