I know you have a five year old rig and I may need to borrow it. ME1 ran totally fine, but I get consistently 30sec plus loading times in the normandy on ME2. Running on PC, only a couple of years old. Is it the GT8800? I remember that caused alt-tab problems in ME1.

haha oh man, take the special guest star squad member to recruit jack, during the end bit where shep says " you dont want to be my enemy"

Wait, how do you even do that? Don't you have to recruit the first tier of dudes before it's possible?

If you have a dual core like me, you need to alt-tab and go to task manager. Then disable, and renable a core through affinity. Apparently its a bug with the Unreal engine. I went from 30 second loadtimes on the Normandy to five. You need to do this while the game is running.

no, its dependent on how many missions and n7 missions you do before you get the "plot worlds" in theory you could get all the way ready to go through with the sucide mission before recruiting anyone, i think the exception is you have to have recruited mordin before horizon unlocks, i might try it out but i think it might make you recruit at few to fill out the teams before the iff is complete, but is usually 2-5 missions/n7 missions.

its not save game editing, read what i said above, i still had the convict and the krogan to do after i got horzion unlocked, and then after the ship i had thane and samara, all because i kept exploring and doing all the n7 missions i could find, decided to leave the iff until i had 100% on every system.

So, I would just like to verify something quickly about the end decision: It isn't possible to save the station and NOT just hand it over to Cerberus and TIM, is it? Because I made the decision to not destroy it because it has a treasure trove of data that would help us understand and probably defeat the reapers, but I imagined informing the council about it and getting a shitload of resources poured into a multi-racial effort to learn as much as we can about them to get everybody ready for the incoming invasion. Now I've just given Cerberus an insane amount of power.

My thoughts on the story and ending:
Saving the Collector Station was the better choice, imo. Sure, the illusive man is eventually going to betray us (see evil smile at end of last conversation), but there was really little benefit in just blowing the place up (unless the illusive man turns out to be working for reapers, which I honestly suspected the whole time). I don't like cutting options because that's the morally right thing to do, but that's what being renegade is about I guess.

Same applies for the Geth Heretic Station - only that ironically re-programming the virus instead of destroying it was the paragon choice this time. Could be that the Geth and their Megacluster might be big in the next game, if we need to find allies to stop a reaper invasion. Also one of the reasons why I advised the Quarians against recapturing their homeworld (that, and they would probably just all horribly die if they can't even take back control of one of their own ships from the Geth).

Destroying the cure for the Krogan Genophage just because also didn't seem right. Having Mordin store it could prove to be much more useful, without any drawbacks.

Last of all, I still don't get why the human reaper absolutely had to look like a human - he would have looked laughable as a spaceship.

They're not insane for keeping it. They've just already been indoctrinated. The Reapers powers are obviously so vast that its been able to indoctrinate people through even video games. We all just need to get ready for when they show up.

See manwiththemachinegun's post above. Basically it's a bug. Alt-tab out of the game, set the core affinity to just use one core, then back to two (or four if that's the case) and go back into the game. After that loading should be fine.

You need to do this every time you play though, although I saw a website where someone had made an app to do it for you when you load. Haven't tried it so can't say if it works or not.

They were also indoctrinated by the reaper, there isn't a reaper there, so that shouldn't be an issue anymore, should it?

I just really think that there is some very valuable data in there that could prove very beneficial, but because you can only either destroy it or hand it over to 1 group, destroying it seems like the better idea. Either way they seem to be setting up for a battle with TIM in the next game, either because he's pissed at you or because he (probably) will betray you.

Of course I have a crappy IGP, NVIDIA 9300. Well, not crappy, but not exactly the best either. 800x600 with full details worked fine for me though. No idea if it makes a difference for load times.

    its pretty lame actually
she basically dresses and acts like her mother to fool the rest of the crew into think she is still samara so they dont think shep is a complete dick, felt rather tacked on then anything or like there wasnt enough time to flesh her out as a proper character or not enough disc space, would of preferred a greyer sitution, like instead of her being a killer she is a killer who really cant control herself (like indoctrination type) and there is help yet samara is so bent on killing her, would of proved for a more moral and dramatic choice, and then if you choose her let her join as she is.

anyway you need high paragon/renegade points to get the option, you just keep refusing her sex offers long enough.
