So 25 years ago (and a day), a movie opened in theaters that changed cinema forever. That movie? The Breakfast Club!!!
Yes, hard as it is to believe, the movie turned 25. Don't that just make you feel old as hell?
It was a story about a group of different students brought together for one saturday in detention, with mean Mr. Vernon watching over them. They talk, argue, and relate, empathizing with each other and forming lifelong friendships, if the hopeful ending is anything to go by. Also, Ally Sheedy is awesome.
While there have been a bunch of teen movies that have bettered it (Say Anything, Some Kind of Wonderful, Mean Girls), The Breakfast Club is the most accessible example of american teen moviehood and remains watchable and quotable.
And hey, how were your high school years? mine was a-ok, nothing too exciting. Adequately Average. Glad to have that behind me, but mostly remembering the good times.

The best reason being, after I watched it with my now-girlfriend 4 years ago, we got together that same night.
Apparently she didn't forget about me.
