Well I didn't mean "Step 1, do this. Step 2, do that" I meant more along the lines of earning monies or whatever. IIRC I have a freighter character and what I was setting up to be a fighter, getting into big capital ships and whatnot.
I will probably reactivate my account tomorrow. Is there a ventrilo or something for the group?
There's TS, though I've no earthly idea why we don't use Vent. I'm never on it though, as I prefer the vacuum of space to be quiet.
Ways to make money off the top of my head:
Ratting: Good
Anomalies: Awesome
W-Space: Awkward
Complexes: Awesome
Planetary Management/Industry/Research: I've not a clue
Trade/Freighting: Probably decent
Mining: All I see is crokite
By all accounts capital ships are worth the investment, though I couldn't speak for them personally.
There's both Teamspeak and Jabber. I think you need to do some of the stuffhere to access it; although obviously at least steps 3-5 are different since you're not joining GoonWaffe.
There's a lot of information in the goonfleet wiki.

Speaking of "What to do in EVE?", this should probably be in the next OP. It's an EVE Manual. It's kind of fucking insane.

Horrifically long, but there is some extremely good stuff in there, and what I've read so far is pretty accurate too. Even just flicking through some of the areas you aren't sure about, I think it's worth checking out for... Well, everyone.
Anyone do any wormhole farming before? What kind of isk can you make in C3's and C4's?
No one answered you so I figured I would. You can make around 100mil per site in a c4 depending on your nanoribbon luck, and I've seen c4's with around 25 sites crammed in. 3 T2 fitted tengus can easily solo a plex, with less if you factionfit or have good skills most likely. 3 is the smallest gang I've done yet, I don't even bother fitting faction. Even flying with ~12 people and a corp tax, I can pay for my sub in under a week of casually playing. PI is a pretty good moneymaker there as well.
My current corp is not pvp oriented by far, but I prefer pvp in whspace as well due to mass limits, creates a lot more small gang fights with no worries of cap ships dropped on you or any BS sized blobs unless your in a bigger hole (C5 or C6). In a land without local, stealthbombers, recons, and covert t3's can ruin someones day pretty fast. HICs are great as well for camping holes. Who says small gang pvp doesn't exist anymore, I'll skip over the lagfest.

I've done c4's in a scorpion solo before. makes for some nice cash I agree
I really really want a ship loaded with Tachyon beams just for shits and giggles.
At first this sounds like a great idea. Then you start the large T2 turret grind. Six months later, destitute and half insane, you will look upon your Apocalypse as either a jail cell or a tomb.
But hey, at least the relevant skills make you a great Zealot pilot.

Interesting, I forgot the wh was a magnetaur when there were 3 of us and that kind of gimped us. Can you do the harder plexes like this? I'd be interested in your fit, I've never had an opportunity to solo one (I usually run with ~9 other blokes for good times).
EDIT: also, some noobs declared war on my wh corp (why they needed to declare war when we live in a wh I have no idea). We've run them and their t3's out of our system and started station camping them turning their war against them for epic luls.
Hey guys! I too am someone who has been eyeing playing EVE again... or, properly this time. Honestly I'd never gotten out of the trial in the past because I 1. Lacked a Credit Card and 2. No Time Card were sold around here for it at the time.
But now the former has changed I've been thinking of giving it a shot... especially considering I picked the game up for $2 via steam during one of their big sales. I think the last time I properly flew with anyone from PA was way back in the day when we had both the Fleshreapers, whom I was apart of, and Merch Industrial. Went by Wolfico I think, doubt anyone remembers though.
Anyway I'm looking to give the game a good and proper shot, and would love one of those 21-day trials if anyone feels spiffy enough to slide it my way.
fyi i am a spy
Something I just realized, It seems I get some kind of special promotional code from having bought the game through Steam?
Wait... OH! I get it, there's a 21 day trial available through Steam. Well... I'd rather give one of you duders millions of possible isk by being referred, anyway.
Edit: Cause no one seemed to reply in the G&T thread x_x
Is the PA corp pretty active still? The only real try I gave EVE was years ago and I never left high sec space. I've been looking for a new time waste, so I thought I'd give it another shot and do something besides mine shit this time around.
Arthil, I can send you a buddy invite, just PM me your e-mail address.
Rusk, the corp is active and living in Goon space, so there's always something going on, especially on the US time zone. I'm a new member and have been enjoying things a lot so far, despite being on EU tz.

There's some interesting eve 0.0 politics going on for anyone that's interested.
Atlas Alliance is run by a guy named Bobby Atlas, for the most part he's pretty egotistic. Atlas was friends with Against All Authorities, Red Overlord and somewhat with IT Alliance (basically all the big players in the south) along with most of the smaller alliances in the south.
About a month ago Legion of xXDeathXx, white noise and Red Alliance all decided to invade Atlas space. Against All Authorities leadership brokered a meeting between Bobby Atlas and the Russian coalition. Apparently in this meeting Bobby refused to make a deal surrendering some of his territory to avoid invasion.
"Nync and I tried to broker a deal between White Noise and Atlas before this war ever started. Which Bobby went bat$h!t crazy about when White Noise stated that Red Alliance would get space out of it. Basically a bunch of raging happened on teamspeak where Bobby told Psychoo from White Noise to go F himself. This kinda left Nync and I with a facepalm moment."
-Manfred Sideous (Against ALL Authorities)
Of course this meant war. The Russians hired Pandemic Legion which is generally considered to be a bunch of fairly bad ass dudes to spear-head the invasion. After about a month of fighting Atlas had lost a considerable chunk of space without much resistance on their part and no help form their friends and allies.
Apparently somewhere near the beginning of this war Bobby resigned from leading his alliance. After two weeks the new leadership brokered a deal to allow some of those in the alliance still building super capital ships (15-40+) billion ISK each safety until their ships finished building. Others would have to hand over their super capitals to the russian coalition upon completion and all members of Atlas would get to evac their assets not only from the stations they still hold but also the stations that had been conquered so far in the war (apparently a lot of people had trapped assets in hostile stations).

I confirm the deal below on behalf of ATLAS alliance
GK
Surrender terms and Chribba
From: ByFeve
Sent: 2010.08.27 17:05
To: Gloria Khan,
Hi UAxDEATH. This mail is mainly to you, but also goes out to the involved parties.
We contacted Chribba and briefed him on the situation. This is what he said.
[ 2010.08.27 16:21:01 ] Chribba > ok, preferebly formalize all those
details with the other party and put me on the mail, I think I should
be able to help, but right now I really have to go as I'm already
late for a dinner
[ 2010.08.27 16:21:52 ] Chribba > yep I think I should be able to
assist as long as all details from both sides ofc gets finalized
So, we formalized this as follows:
Atlas surrenders to xix/RA/WN
STANDINGS:
- xix/RA/WN will call back PL
- Atlas will get blue standing to all above to one day after last Titan is built.
- This standing involves docking rights in all former Atlas station
- The standing will remain for the days it take to build all supercaps + one day.
- Atlas will reset their former ally AAA a week after deal is set.
TRIBUTES:
- Atlas will give xix/RA/WN a tribute of 2 Erebus and 3 Nyx
- The first and the last Erebus that finish will be handover when ready.
- The Nyx's will be handover when ready.
COLLATERAL:
- xix/RA/WN will give Chribba 200B as collateral until deal is complete.
- If deal is broken this isk goes to Atlas Holdings.
- When deal is furfilled Atlas will also kill their alliance name and xix/RA/WN get their collateral back.
plz comment if you think something is to vauge or is missing.
(For those who don't know, Chribba is somewhat of a celebrity in eve, often a trusted 3rd party in deals such as this to make sure that one side doesn't back out on the other.)
Atlas' former allies Against ALL Authorities apparently did not like this. They dropped their blue standing with Atlas and started to gank their evacuating freighters.
After this deal was made bobby came back and freaked out, apparently he attempted to disband the alliance immediately (which would delay the Atlas super capitals currently in production) to try to prevent the Russian coalition from getting half. Luckily for the Atlas members, their new leaders had the foresight to remove bobby's roles in their holding corporation. Transcript and hilarious video below.
Rumor has it that Against ALL Authorities is also collapsing and RED.Overlord is likely to merge with White Noise or at least cease to be one of the major powers in the south. What this amounts to is a major weakening in one of the three big power blocks in eve, stability is likely to be very much upset in the south. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next six months, likely there will be plenty of fighting in the south.

I'm pretty sure that losing Sov only suspends super cap production (like when the POS is in reinforced) rather than aborting the build. That's how it worked pre-Dominion anyways. When Goonswarm invaded Delve hot on the heels of Band of Brothers being disbanded, there were many battles fought over the then-vulnerable CSAAs. Band of Brothers wouldn't have defended the CSAAs so desperately if the construction jobs had already been cancelled by the sov loss.

Ah ok, wasn't sure how that worked. I guess even if bobby disbanded the alliance they could still make good on the agreement, would just be a couple days of chaos.
Well I lost my first ship to a player, amusingly it was in an unexpected place. I'd been so concerned with the warpgates, that I didn't realize how bad of an idea it was to exit a station after docking with a Red colored player hovering around outside.
No big loss though, less than a million all in all.
