Yea, I scanned everything I came across in the CoG since I wasn't sure how long till I could get back again.

I was in the trenches last night, and kept getting attacked by a mystery assailant. I was confused, and the guy I was giving a tour to started whining about it. I finally found a shark down there that just wouldn't leave me alone until I zappered him a few hundred times :P

I also couldn't find the fish (oarfish) that the tourist wanted to see.

I've not been putting in any effort to boost visitor numbers but I think I'm at around 800k visitors just from shuttling through the days really fast while I finish of all my trailing tasks.

I want to get that done, as well as finish my fishepedia and salvage book.

9 coins to go. I'm using GameFAQs to give me the grid reference and then searching from there. Kinda like pretending they did what they should have done and made the coin log work like the fish-dex.

Finishing 'sets' gives you massive chunks of cash amongst other things (legendary beast quests, clothing, haircuts, etc).

Variable. 100 odd thousand at times. Most sets can't be finished until you have your million though.

Also complete fish-dex get!

Just got to get two salvage items and I'll have reached my 100% goal (having classed the game's 100% as 'ludicrous')

In Europe it's 1000km. And no. Really no.

Other strange localisation differences. There's a title for showing various characters their favourite fish, for which you pretty much have to hit up an FAQ to find out what said fish are. In Europe we get an even more uselessly enigmatic title description for the same title, 'Earn X's Respect'. Thus I had naturally thought GG's respect would be earned via salvaging and so on. Nope, it's still the random fish showing thing.

Soo.. The vocals in the opening were amazing, and then I was really depressed that they weren't going on while you were diving. I was even gonna come here and bitch about it.

And then I made it into the castle. And then into the gallery with the sunlight pouring in the windows on the side.. Vocals hit the crescendo right as it took camera control from me and panned around. Fuck. Yes.

And then I had to dive the castle like 80 million times to finish it because my air kept running out.

Never got tired of that song though. Perfect.

Just got tired of swimming through that village to the well, over and over.

And over.

this game is pretty cool, certainly plenty to do. just after coming back from Aquanaut's Holiday its kinda grating to get hit in the face with low-def visuals. oh well

Buy a bigger tank and progress the story more. You'll be able to swim all you like, for as long as you like.

I beat the game last night. I went salvaging in the

Cavern of the Gods

like five times because of all the great salvage down there. I think I averaged 20k everytime.

Then I beat it. I hope I checked out all the fish and such there. There are quite a few uniques there.

Also, with the trench,

the giant squid, I got it to fight the whale, but I couldn't interact with the squid to get it added to my list. Did I miss my chance or something?

You should check every area during every possible time and weather. And moon phase. Especialy after you find trinkets.

Now that I think about it; How the hell do you not get the 500 Mile title?

Also, this game is the best to play before bed. Wife went to sleep. I wasn't tired yet. Played for an hour and quit. I think I was asleep moments after my head hit the pillow. Soooo relaxing...

But Jam is right, there is nothing you can't see again. Just one particular area requires a lot of money.

And another requires training dolphins.

All of the tanks except the rental are 950; all the fins except for the 'speed' ones are 600, most of the gloves are 500.

Is there a difference between a german tank and an american tank? I presume more expensive == better stats (move faster, dive longer, etc). Correct?

The only difference is the way they look. They provide no advantage, regardless of cost. The only ones that provide more air are the ones that say they do. And they cost more.

Plus, unless you have beaten the game, you do not have lots of money. Trust me. Hang on to it before you buy cosmetic tanks and BCD and gloves. You'll thank me later.

Do buy a telescope when it becomes available. Very useful.

Fuck Dolphin training and shows.

You only have to train one dolphin up to the point of the shows starting. After that it's a 'mere' 20 dolphin shows to grind out and you're there. An effort but oh so worth it.

Not to mention hugely profitable: If you have a level 3 dolphin, you could earn up to four times the stated request reward. Of course, if you thought the shows lasted too long before, you're really gonna hate a level 3 show.

My Marine Encyclopedia's missing two small fish from the Cavern of the Gods: One between the Bluelashed Butterflyfish and the Banded Angelfish and one between the Yellow Boxfish and the Tiger Puffer. I know where I'm supposed to find them but haven't seen any on multiple dives. Is there a special condition for them to appear or something?

Apart from that, Kraken Jr. and Snowy, I'm done with the fish.

I'm only planning on buying things that confer benefits. Not sure why cosmetic items need to be a purchase - just let us paint them.

What's the multiplayer like in this? I usually pass on multiplayer stuff in most games but this one I might just try it out.
