Nintendo has finally announced Endless Ocean 3 for Switch!

Is it your life's dream to operate an Aquarium? Then this is the game for you. Collect and place over 300 different aquarium grade specimens in your very own Japanese Tourist Trap. Keep the paying customers happy by rotating your stock and putting what excites the visitors on display. Careful, they get bored quite easily.

Ever want to train Dolphins to do tricks and have them swim around with you and ride on their backs? Your in luck, cause the awesome dolphin training is back, and better! You can put on dolphin shows to raise cash for your diving addiction.

This being a sequel means the obvious; more fish, more areas to explore, bigger oceans. Now the animals can react in a negative aggressive manner towards you. But don't worry, they won't bite you, or will they?

Now featuring river, lakes, two frozen waste lands to explore, and the usual tropical paradises. Naturally the deep dark trenches are back too.

Sporting at least 24 legendarys, over 150 Achievements, and underwater chat using Wii speak. This sequel makes the first Endless Ocean all but obsolete.

And I might get in trouble if I don't mention some really beautiful music by one Hayley Dee Westenra.

Help and FAQS - Work in Progress

Given how much of a pain it is to find the Blue Bird, I have shamefully stolen Jimi_Dinl's help post from Game Faqs.

Blue Bird Locations - Individually Spoilered for minimum spoiler spoils.
1
- Gatama atoll - go shore on the island in the lower east
2 -
Ciceros - in the triton cove - nw of triton village ruins (almost at the middle of the map)
3 -
Weddell Sea (south pole) - during blizzard, go ashore in the NE
4 -
Canada (north pole) - during aurora in the evening/night ashore in the mid west (where the icebear is)
5 -
Cortica, south America - when it's raining, go ashore on the left sandbank
6 -
Red Sea - It's on the only area to go ashore on the night of the full moon - go to nineball island, look through the telescope at night till it says "the moon is full", now fly to red sea and rest untill night
7 -
back on nineball island, where you found it the first

Cavern of the God's Directions - The end level in Zehabb

More thanks than can be given to phisheep at Gamefaqs for having the best faq in town. I had to use it to fill in certain parts that my tiny brain could not remember.
Go straight up the stairs to the mural and use Dragon Flute.
Go down the south hall turn right at the end. Ahead on the right are stairs, swim down them. This is the Altar of Nephthys. Inspect Statue and use Dragon Flute again
Go back to the entrance and take the north corridor. Swim to the end and turn left. Swim to the end, go left and swim down the stairs. Welcome to Altar of Osiris.
Inspect statue and use the flute.
Go up the stairs, turn left, and ride the current to the Altar of Horus.
Statue, Dragon Flute, No more currents.
In the name of all things good and aquatic, RETURN TO THE BOAT AND GET SOME AIR!
Return to the Entrance and Inspect the Mural, yet again.
Go to Altar of Horus, north corridor, left, second left. Inspect statue, again. Diver go down the hole.
Diver go up other hole. Altar of Isis.
Go up the stairs, turn right, right again, and ahead on the right you'll find a mural. Inspect it.
Turn around and go down the stairs. Click on glowing shiny spot.
Go up the stairs. Pillars of Shadow. (Look for special fish bigger than it's counter parts and scan for legendary)
Swim all the way up to the hole in the ceiling, find big stone door, and let GG do something for once.
Not that easy; pulsar the sharks as quick as possible to save air (Scan after pulsar for log entry)
Enter room, cue BS.
Another mural, another inspect. Two ugly's are back, with massive backup.
Pulsar sharks, (Scan big boy for log entry after ward) check first statue. Repeat pulsar, go to next statue, wash and repeat one last time.
Ooh, pretty bs.
Turn cross bar in the middle of the room. Awesome treasure, GTFO in T - 10 Minutes.

Swim through western door, down steps, turn left (Yep the way you came) LOL you can't.
Go all the way the fuck back to the White Whale room and head through Oceane's corridor. Swim down, mural ahoy. Inspect.
Transmission can suck it. Turn immediately to your right. Inspect column with pretty glowing shiney spot. Head through the door.

Watch that shit bust up. Crap your pants over price tag, and get to the sandbox exploration!

Second Cave in Gatama Location
Quadrant A6/7 - 20 meters down. Bring a dolphin friend.

3 Sick Monk Seal Locations
H8 - NW Corner, 70 meters down
A5 - Go As far Middle West as you can

I wasn't interested in this game but then I read a review stating that the story is about you treasure hunting in ancient ruins under the sea and I am all about that shit

I guess the game is a lot more game-y than the previous game too, so there is more shit to do than just hang out underwater

Looks rather pretty for a Wii game, too

The first one relied on treasure hunting too. But yes, this one puts more of an emphasis on it. There are also more secret creatures to unlock.

This is a spoiler but the first one's kinda old by now anyway - Endless Ocean 1 also had treasure hunting in underwater ruins.
Like really awesome creepy ruins with secret openings to find and such. And a ghost ship. And a sunken wreck of a plane, and a cave or two, and a dark abyss with a whale graveyard and tons of deep horrors.

It could be quite relaxing but it had some moments of pretty awesome too. But this game looks like it greatly expands upon that!

If you can actually be bitten then thats awesome. Its cool to just have a mellow game and all but the one thing that really put me off from the first game was how safe everything felt. It felt more like I was looking at an aquarium than swimming in the ocean. It was like I was just looking at these creatures. In reality the ocean can be a pretty dangerous place. Obviously I don't want guns or anything but some sort of basic defense would be good. Some species should make the player weary of approaching them.

I swear to god, the first game when I found The Abyss, and then saw the giant squid -- the sheer terror was equal to any Resident Evil.

I am obsessed with the Ocean, and have tons of documentaries on the deep sea, because honestly I feel strongly that we dont explore the deep sea enough. That is straight up, alien shit down there. There's no way around it. Those creatures are honestly just beyond anything anyone can imagine.

So in Endless Ocean when I found the Abyss, I had NO idea how faithful they'd be to what it may look like down there, and it was just crazy. ESPECIALLY playing without the music and just the ocean sounds. Chills!

And I actually am almost done with the 'plot' of Endless Ocean, and Ive been playing it since launch day. I play it like twice a month, for like a half hour at a time, and its just absolutely perfect. I have 2 of those sonar things left to place, but I keep getting magazine reuqests and I like taking pictures of the fish.

    I've never come across the
    airplanes!
though, so when I get home I'm gonna go look for that. It sounds really really awesome.

Also - it should be noted that if you order this through Amazon ($30!) it comes with Wii Speak. I've done this, and I am PSYCHED that I will FINALLY be able to go on dives with people.

That said - if anyone wants to go dive in the first one and show me the place I mentioned, I'll find my Wii number.

A big part of it is probably because it features one of the few things on earth where a short draw distance is expected and realistic. But they've clearly put a lot of research/effort into the different types of animals, texturing them etc.

I consider myself a pretty educated saltwater aquarium owner and enthusiast - and you're dead on. The fish - especially after you look at them and they go in your book, so you can look at them close up - are spot on and incredibly detailed.

My girlfriend played a little just so she could find all the fish in my tank, and after her never really saying anything other than "I like your nemo fish" and "Wheres the purple one?" when looking in my tank, I was pretty amazed that after her playing Endless Ocean for a while she could say "I saw the royal gramma in your tank today" or "you have a tomato clown, not a maroon clown, right?"

I had a chiclid tank and a red tiger oscar for a long time - so Im very, very excited that this game is going to have african freshwater in it, as Im sure the attention to detail will be just as good.

Here are details on this cool place:
Actually the crashed plane is at the same location as the wrecked ship, it's one area full of wreckage. You end up getting to it similarly to the ghost ship in Wind Waker, actually.

After you have explored 60% of the full map and entered the Caves at least once, a pirate ship will start appearing at three different locations. You can visit each one and eventually find it on your own, or you can do it the way it was intended and find all the compass piece treasures which reveals the three coordinates to you (E-5, E-9, and H-6). Regardless, you can find it by surfacing and looking around, then sailing your boat nearest to where you saw it and diving again. Swim through the hole in the side and you'll find yourself at the wreckage.

And once you find the Shark Tooth Necklace, the legendary Magu Tapa starts showing up at the wreckage...and he doesn't like being poked...

Huh. I love this game but had no idea there was so much actual 'game' to it. And I got it launch day! I have almost every bit of the map uncovered, but havent found much treasure, and havent found any compasses I dont think. I basically either ask the lady what to do, or check my e-mail and go give people tours. I explore on my own a fair bit too. Looks like when I get home I have a lot of exploring to do...

I think it's meant to take a long, long time to discover these things. You have to stumble across the pieces in various areas, I think they're just marked by shining spots like other items you find. You don't get any email hints or anything to my knowledge.

I looked up a guide, here's the location of one of the pieces, so you can go and see what you're looking for:
Secret Lake (J9(8,7),11m,36ft), on the sand near central rock

Also everyone should listen to this, it's a different recording of the same song in the first game. Makes me really want to play it again just to listen to the music.

An interview on IGN said that we would NOT be able to use the SD card for music, which goes against what the youtube video on the last page says.

Which would suck - because even though the music is great on its own - Ive loved listening to some of the more techno-ish David Bowie while exploring the Abyss, and listening to "Aqueous Transmission" by Incubus while going around the reefs.

    IGN, Feb. 12, 2010:
IGN: Are custom soundtracks still supported for users that want to dive with their own music?

Yurie Hattori: Sorry, we are no longer supporting custom soundtracks. On the other hand, we have packed a number of tracks by Celtic Women, which suit the oceanic mystique best. You can even choose what to play after you have unlocked the function.

I listened to a lot of Katamari music, especially the one from the underwater level of We <3 Katamari.

The feature I want most of all though is the ability to have a playlist, rather than choosing one song to repeat endlessly. It made the music annoying after three or four repeats on a single dive which is sad since I do enjoy it.

mxmarks, I was going to ask how much you have seen of the game? The wreckage may be the last major thing that you're missing...did you solve the ruins? Have you seen the credits roll yet?
