i was wondering if MS's 1 year warranty good enough. I been hearing some really bad threads on there support system on the 360 fourms. I was thinking about getting the 1 year warranty from eb games but it cost 50 dollars. i mean i can get a game for that. what do you guys think? worth it?
The 1 year warranty applies to all consoles, assuming you bought yours less than a year ago.
And yeah, I wouldn't worry about the extended warranty if I were you. The first batch of consoles had a higher failure rate, but the new ones should be fine.

Quick story, stop me if you've heard it before.
360 #1: Bought release day. Did not work. Had the warranty. Replaced same week, at EB, no questions. It was replaced November 22nd (I think).
360 #2: Mid-December, 2006. Crapped out. Much anger. According to Microsoft, my warranty had expired 3 days earlier. CDN$180 (I think) to send in for a couple of weeks (over the holidays) to repair. Much more anger. Spoke to "supervisor." 50% off repair bill. Still angry.
Called EB the same night. The extended warranty on the 360 had expired three weeks earlier (I don't know why Microsoft's date was different). They honoured it anyways, and I replaced it with a brand new (not refurb) 360 that night. You can bet your ass I bought another $50 extended warranty for that kind of customer service.
As an epilogue, it took several calls to Microsoft to reverse the charges to my credit card, as I had already set that all up prior to calling EB as an afterthought.
