So Ronin is someone other than Echo? Does Echo wear the suit to fight the Hand?
I think I did this in another thread, but I can't remember. Bendis is quoted as saying this:
"Once Echo is done in Japan, there will be no need for her to be Ronin anymore. The suit – the identity – will have served its purpose.
There will be another person in the Marvel Universe without a theme… without a motivation … or who may have lost their desire to wear the costume they were wearing, and this person will don the costume as the masterless samurai of the Marvel Universe for the time to come... It’s someone with a long history in the Marvel Universe. There are quite a few people it could be, and it’s not necessarily the person you immediately go to, but it’s someone I have an affection for who also has a history of donning a guise that best suits his or her mental tone. And this is his or her mental tone right now. And it just so happens there is a costume that needs filling and a person who can fill it, and so it’s taken."
About half of that nearly screams Captain America. This was my biggest theory until he was shot down. The colors are pretty close to Iron Fist colors, and Danny does know Luke very well. I can't think of a reason why Danny would stop being Iron Fist though, unless something crazy happens later in that book. Maybe Orson will stick around? Another theory is Hawkeye, but he does not really have a big history of changing costumes. Neither does Danny... Hm.

Danny's kicking ass out of the suit, so that kind of rules him out.

Completely retarded guess, but that makes it sound like Spider-Man.
My smart money says Hawkeye. Bendis loves him and he went around as Goliath for a while, Pym particles and all.
But the mental state comment, that makes me think it's Hank Pym. Everyone knows how fragile his mind is, and how often he changes costume. Plus, he did dick during the War and hasn't done dick since it ended, except shake some Wakandan hands.
Bendis hates him, though. Has always held the wife-beating thing against him, I don't know why.
Someone said something about NFL Superhero, but I'm pretty sure he's dead. Is one of the issues supposed to be a big reveal?
I was just fuckin' around, son. But yeah, I'd love it if he just took off the Ronin mask and was wearing the helmet.
I'd love to see everyone just ditch him, too. He'd be standing their with Hostess snack cakes, and Iron Man would just fly down.
"We'll give you amnesty if you just wanna join the Mighty Avengers and we can beat the shit out of/arrest Superpro."

So, if Superpro is Ronin where does that put him? Pro-Reg? Anti-Reg?
Oh shit, sudden thought. What if it's Dennis Dunphy aka Demolition Man? He's changed costumes before depending on his mental state, he has a long(ish) history in the Marvel Universe, and now that Daredevil's fled the country and Captain America is dead, he's a masterless samurai. Plus Bendis did use him in the Pulse, so he has some affinity for the character.

well, the Demolition man argument sounds pretty sound. However, I'm a little trouble by what I saw in Civil War: Battle Damage Report.
Read Iron Fist's profile. It mentions something like "Iron Fist 2.0". That someone is running around as Iron Fist. What does this mean? Possibly that Ronin is Iron Fist(the colors seem right), and who is the guy in the Iron Fist costume? I dunno, but I thought it worth mentioning.

Yeah that's Orson Randall, a previous Iron Fist who somehow is still alive even though Danny has received the powers. He'll probably be offed or de-powered soon.

Ronin would then instantly get his own goddamned series. And then his own Marvel Team-Up book. And then he'd be banging Mary Jane while Peter takes notes on how to be so goddamned awesome.

"Where do I know you from?"
"Genosha"
"Ahhh yes."
Val Kilmer wasn't in ronin though.

I didn't read all thirty pages of this, but I'm just going to post from my blog;
Clues:
"There will be another person in the Marvel Universe without a theme… without a motivation … or who may have lost their desire to wear the costume they were wearing, and this person will don the costume as the masterless samurai of the Marvel Universe for the time to come.”
and
"“Some people will love it … and some people will hate it. "
this should be taken to read "Brian michael Bendis and three other people will like it, most won't care, and everyone else will hate it."
and
“It’s someone with a long history in the Marvel Universe. There are quite a few people it could be, and it’s not necessarily the person you immediately go to, but it’s someone I have an affection for who also has a history of donning a guise that best suits his or her mental tone. there are some key hints in there, most notably "It's someone I have an affection for" and "History of donning a guise that best suits his or her mental tone..."
and then the next big hint comes in New avengers #27, an action packed screed that hits all the right notes and features super-artist leinil Yu, who, while not the literally best artist I have ever seen, is extremely good and EXTREMELY FAST, able to put out three books a month (unlike, say, Finch, who makes us wait 6 months between each supposedly monthly book of the Ultimates). Anyways, here's the panel.
There are not a lot of people in the Marvel Universe that know Cage, but don't know Spidey well enough to know that he's gabby in a fight.
As a matter of fact, I can only think of three people who know Cage better than Spidey-
Misty Knight, Black Panther and Jessica Jones.
Now, since you're probably reading this as my friend and not as much as a fellow comics fan, it's worth reiterating that the Ronin suit is originally a drag suit.
Since Black Panther's been wearing the same duds since the beginning, it boils down to Misty and Jessica, and I gotta throw my suspicions that it's Jessica Jones.
Has a long history in the Marvel Universe? No. But according to Bendis? yes.
Chose the wrong side in the civil war? (took off with her and Cage's kid to Canada) Well, possibly check.
Skilled Fighter? Eh. But has Super Strength and durability.
Has a history of changing costumes? Check- as both Jewel and Knightress.
Bendis didn't go through all the hassle of getting her two of her own books and slamming her into New Avengers and Young Avengers just to have he move to canada or be background.
anyways, I'm gonna go be with my family now. I'm probably all wrong, and we're going to find out it's another bit daredevil character no one's ever heard of because of Bendis's neverending hardon for Daredevil (see the first half of the above comic book for proof).
She hasn't been into the whole dressing up in costume things for a long time, and with good reason. Now she decides it's best to hire a sitter for widdle baby and dress up as a dude and go to Japan for a while?

Supposedly the reveal will be sooner rather than later. Like, this arc.

Yeah, homeless Wolverdevil for the win.
