I had Jeanne d'Arc downloaded on my PSP, but I had to make room for FFVII a few months ago, so I copied the directory from my memory stick to my computer. I didn't want to lose my complete game save. But tonight I cleared off FFVII to move it back, and my PSP is telling me the game isn't valid - something about a security code mismatch.
I'm redownloading it, which I didn't want to do because it takes forever - I still have the original folder on my hard drive. Is there any way to move games around without having to download them fresh every time? How do I keep my save files intact?
Generally you should be able to move games back and forth between your PSP and your PC as long as the License folder is still intact on your PSP (x:\PSP\LICENSE).
Your gamesaves are separate from the game files themselves.
Your saves are in x:\PSP\SAVEDATA , but they aren't listed by game name, but SLUS/UCUS/NPUG number, depending on whether the game is a PSP game, a PSN game, a PS1 game, a demo, etc. You can tell which save goes to which game by opening the folder. Inside there will be a file called icon0.png (which is the save icon), and one called pic1.png (which is the background image shown on the PSP screen when you're looking at the save file).
So even if you delete a game, your saves for that game are still there on your memory stick.
