thin wallet

so i see that there have been a few threads on wallets- most of them receiving a few answers for slim wallets, some for money clips, some for the taxi wallet, some for duct tape wallets

i know pretty much what i want- i just want a few brand recommendations, i guess

i want a super slim/thin wallet, and i want a traditional appearance- either brown or black and a super thin leather, or a very leather-like material

no nylon or anything

Well, leather is by its very nature much thicker than nylon so... I don't know how thin you're expecting to go.

edit: Huh, Big Skinny is now designign some wallets with leather on the outside but nylon on the inside to cut down on thickness.

had a Big Skinny wallet, liked the design and all, but it fell apart and took damage easily after just a couple years. I e-mailed them about it and they said they changed their manufacturing process and now offered a warranty. I moved on to a taxi wallet though.

I have to second the Slimmy. I've had one for two years and it's worn in well through heavy use, but is still in great shape. It really forces you to think about what you're carrying and to cut down on useless cards and other things, and it's quite classy in black leather.

I got a wallet for christmas a few years ago that had a sort of removable insert thing with space for ID and several cards. As I nearly never carry cash, it works really well for me to just use the insert (it has no billfold section). I think it's a samsonite.
