    I just had a game with an Ez and a TF that both claimed mid once the game started. Both refused to leave, and I (as Singed) was left alone top. Within the first minute, bottom had given up first blood and neither would-be solo mid had budged. Within 3 minutes, both had died at least once. Within 10 minutes, both went afk.

    So, in conclusion,

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK

    Edit: I did get to kill their Malphite a couple times though. Always enjoy proving that bad champions are bad.

    So this is relevant to the discussion.. I just played with an AS/AD (+ crit) Janna who went 15/3/6.

    Don't know the order in which she bought them, but she finished with Avarice Blade, Berserker's Greaves, Phantom Dancer, Infinity Edge, Zeal, and Sheen.

    I'm pretty sure I lost us the game by becoming careless late game after dominating team battles during mid game with my lethal poison/fling/goo combinations. I finished 9/11/16. (Janna stole like five of my kills, hah. Including a triple kill where I'd gotten all three down to slivers. He even apologised, but I told him I like assists. :P))

    Also, belated response:
    There's nothing wrong with specializing in one character in the beginning of the game, when you're still learning the ropes. You may, however, find that you're even better when using some of these other characters you haven't tried :P

    When you feel comfortable you should definitely branch out and try other "types" of champs, though. I played support (Nunu and Taric) for a long time before realizing that CC-heavy mages (Fiddles, Annie, Anivia) fit my playstyle way better. And I still can't effectively play ranged DPS dudes with any consistency.

    Also, it's nice to be able to play other dudes so you can fill different roles as they're needed. I've got 2 tanks, 2 ranged DPS, 2 mages, 2 pushers, and 2 support guys who I rotate into play depending on what my team needs the most. I mean, I PREFER to use Fiddles, but he's not always the best choice for a team. (Just most of the time :lol:)

    I guess I should add, I do have a sort-of backup in Warwick. He was my first 'main' after basically learning the game with Yi (and I've never played this genre, so it was a rough start), and I switched to Singed just as I was getting a good feel for the game overall. Since then I've only really used him in practises against bots (me and a friend have been introducing other friends to the game, heh), mostly working on jungling... I was thinking about breaking him out in a 'real' game, but with him being free I was kind of meh. But definitely, I'm going to play him some more, and actually use the free champions to test out other potential playstyles.

    one of the reasons I picked Singed at all is because I figured a tank was a good main to have. On most champion select screens in solo queue, an extra tank is a Good Thing. Heh.

    The discussion I had with one of my gaming partners earlier this week boiled down to

    "people who want mid in pugs are either assholes or will die a lot, and then be assholes"

    I don't even bother. Top and bottom are more fun anyway. Mid is just penis waving for 10 levels until the real game starts.

    Most of the time in solo queue this proves to be the case and it always sucks when you see like 3 different champs yell at each other to 'win' mid. I've tried hard to play mid effectively when I'm there and use the advantages in level and gold to help the team. I'm totally biased because when I do mid I'm looking to get a few kills in and jump to either lane to help out and start moving people out of the laning phase as we take control of the map. This week was heaven as mid-Teemo; think I've gone something like 12-5 or 6 for victories by taking mid and using that dominance to swing the game.

    The flipside is seemingly every game where I take a lane and our mid dies repeatedly and does nothing allowing the twitch/tf/nid/whatever to go apeshit. I lost one yesterday where a bad ashe mid let a blitz dominate and snowball into absurdity.

    And of course, like you said, I like taking the other lanes more anyway since playing with a teammate against multiple opponents is just more fun all around if its anywhere near a close matchup.

    Just played a game that ended up being 4v5. I held Singed and Veigar on bot solo for most of the game until I started getting items. Then it was time to Fabulously Shine all over their faces, Taric style. Somehow we won that game, maybe cause it was me, zil, blitz, and eve.

    The other day I actually saw a 'race' to mid between a twitch and an ashe. They were neck and neck up the lane until Ashe used ghost to get ahead of Twitch. I facepalmed so hard.

    Until Twitch fucking cast flash in a failed attempt to pass up Ashe.

    Needless to say Ashe won mid and they both secured us a sound loss by feeding relentlessly.

    Won a game earlier by boring the other team to death.

    My team refused to push at all, despite a 3 tower advantage and our side having won pretty much every team fight to that point. Additionally I had an Oracle's elixir, effectively castrating their Twitch and Eve. I had nothing better to do than farm middle alone while their team refused to leave their base and ours refused to leave our second mid tower. All the while a 1/8/9 Teemo was frantically pinging and telling me "Get back you idiot! Don't push alone! Ur so bad!" etc etc, despite me having more kills, less deaths and more assists as the goddamned tank.

    "Ur a tank, you don't go in alone!"
    Well, sir, you don't go at all so when does the going happen? Fucking christ I hate sackless teams.

    Anyways, after about 6 minutes waiting for a push that just wasn't coming, their side trips a mushroom near Baron and we promptly ace them in the ensuing team fight.

    But then how could they have secured dominance of the best dick-waving spot on the map? Everyone knows that the mid is the real player, those other 4 people are just filler until you can turn your Twitch into a veritable god and kill the entire enemy team with an accidental sneeze.

    Hi there guys. If I could get added to the OP list that'd be fancy. Summoner name is Kagnarok. I think I'm lvl 13 or so now. Something like that.

    And a quick question: I'm almost to the 3150 IP to buy a new hero, but I'm torn between Udyr and Heimerdinger. So which is better? I'm a big fan of Sivir and that's who I've been playing as mostly, so another range character would probably suit me, but Udyr just looks awesome and reminds me of Warcraft 3 Druids of the Claw, which were my favorite unit. Someone. Decide for me. Please.

    Heimer is going to be remade in the next patch, so I doubt anyone would know how good he is. With that said, it is almost always true that champions are OP when they are remade. Then again, I personally do not like Udyr. Sounds like you already have a liking towards that champion, why don't you get him.

    And yes, most Heimerdingers are the balls right now. Some know how to play aggressively, but even then they don't bring much to a teamfight aside from their rockets and the (very) occasional well-placed grenade

    but if he puts points into rockets and grenades he's only mediocre while you win!

    PLUS, when heimer takes mid even though you've got an ashe and a sivir, he's got something to do at level 1 if he takes turret! slap down maybe two turrets, which will quickly be destroyed by the other team's sivir!

    and then he gets to fall back to his tower, putting down turrets right by the tower, to slow down the rate at which he loses the lane.

    I seriously can't think of a situation where someone plays Heimer and I think "I'm glad you didn't pick absolutely any other hero." Evelynn can be a powerhouse if she's fed. I would rather have Evelynn than Heimer.

    I'd rather have a Heimer. Heimer can be a powerhouse when he's fed (like any hero in the game), and unlike Eve he can get assists/gold/mejai charges without ever putting himself in danger. Plus he brings SOME team utility, no matter how minor, with his map awareness (turrets used as "cameras" in the jungle) and team fighting abilities (AOE blind/stun if he can land it and press-button-to-win champ-seekining missiles).

    Eve brings absolutely nothing, and feeds like a champ. Even when she gets fed herself, all it takes is an Oracles and one or two deaths to melt her snowball. She's good for pub-stomping, hunting junglers, and cleaning up after team fights and that is it.

    I can tell you what is happening, from experience. If you click left click on Tibbers, you are no longer controlling Annie with your commands, but controlling Tibbers. To remedy, simply left click Annie again. This is the alternative to alt-control, but I wish I could disable it cause when I accidentally left click Tibbers it gets me killed.

    Of course. True tautology is true?

    The thing that makes certain champions worse/better than others is what they bring to the team, and how easily they are countered/shutdown. Eve is easily shutdown with oracles/wards for example.

    Two heros from DoTA I'd like to see in LoL: Techies (suicide Techies specifically, so much fun) and Meepo. Meepo the geomancer. Meepo.
    Unfortunately due to the horrible pet control mechanism in LoL Meepo would require new tech and I doubt we'll see anything like him anytime soon.

    Patch Day!
    League of Legends and PVP.net will be updated during scheduled downtime on 3/24.

    New Skins in the Store

    * Red Baron Corki
    * Mr. Mundoverse
    * Yellow Jacket Shen
    * Frozen Shen

    PVP.net v1.08.10

    * Several optimizations have been made resulting in quicker login, load times, and page transitions
    * Added an option to turn off the login screen animations
    * Added an option to turn off the page transition animations.
    * Fixed a bug where you could see other player's IP/XP rewards from their recent games.
    * The Play button is now orange instead of blue to help new users reach the Play Game menu.
    * Players who are logged out by Customer Support will now receive a message indicating that their account is under review.
    * Fixed several bugs related to leaving at the end of Champion Selection

    League of Legends v1.0.0.81

    Particle and Network Improvements
    We've made networking optimizations in order to reduce the lag and latency for some players. In addition, the particle system has been improved to provide better performance for some machines in areas that have a high density of particles. This is most noticeable near the top of Twisted Treeline, but general performance should also improve.

    Shen, The Eye of Twilight

    * Vorpal Blade – Hits a target enemy for magic damage, and marks the target for allies to see. Allied units that attack the marked enemy target get healed over several seconds.
    * Feint - Shen defends against the next champion attack or spell, blocking much of the damage from it.
    * Shadow Dash - Shen dashes towards target location, taunting enemies he passes through.
    * Stand United (ultimate) - Shen places a shield on himself and on a target ally which absorbs damage. After channeling for several seconds, Shen teleports to the target ally.
    * Ki Strike (passive) - Every 8 seconds, Shen’s next attack deals bonus damage based on his max health. Being attacked by enemy champions makes this passive occur more frequently.

    Ezreal

    * Stats:
    o Base Armor increased to 15 from 12
    o Base Damage increased to 49 from 47
    o Base Mana Regeneration increased to .9 from .8
    o Movement Speed increased to 305 from 300
    * Mystic Shot base damage increased to 40/65/90/115/140 from 40/60/80/100/120
    * Essence Flux missile width increased to 120 from 100
    * Arcane Shift closest unit targeting range increased to 750 from 650
    * Arcane Shift mana cost reduced to 90 from 100
    * Rising Spell Force duration increased to 6 from 5

    Gragas

    * Fixed a bug in which Barrel Roll would detonate Teemo's mushrooms.

    Heimerdinger

    * H-28G Evolution Turret (remake)
    o Green turrets now spawn at level 3 and 4 of this skill, reducing Armor and Magic Resist on hit. Red Turrets spawn at level 5 and cause area of effect damage on hit.
    o Turrets damage increased to 28/36/44/52/60 from 20/26/32/38/44
    o Turrets now attack 50% faster for the first 6 seconds after placement
    o Max turrets lowered to 1/2/2/3/3 from 2/3/4/5/6
    o New missile particles added for green and red turrets
    * Hextech Micro-Rockets
    o Cooldown reduced to 10 seconds at all levels from 20
    o Rockets now hit the 3 nearest enemy minions or Champions, instead of just Champions
    o Fires 3 rockets at all levels
    o Ability Power Coefficient reduced to 0.55 from 0.8 to accomodate the significant cooldown reduction
    o Base damage reduced to 85/135/185/235/285 from 90/150/210/270/330
    * UPGRADE!!! (remake)
    o UPGRADE!!! retains the 10/15/20% cooldown reduction passive
    o On activation, all existing Evolution Turrets are healed for 100% of their max hit points. In addition, all existing Evolution Turrets begin fire 20/25/30% movement slowing missiles for 10 seconds.
    o Mana cost 90 at all levels
    o Cooldown is 120/105/90

    Jax

    * New "Choose Me" voice over in PVP.net

    Rammus

    * Puncturing Taunt now displays the "Taunted!" pop up text for enemies

    Shaco

    * Increased the range on Two-Shiv Poison's active to 625 from 600

    Summoner Spells

    * Flash range reduced to 425 from 475
