Remember the end of ME1? (any need to spoiler ME1 stuff at this point?)
Shep and co. take out super Saren/Sovereign. Fleet takes out the ship Sovereign. Pieces fly everywhere, some crashing into the council chambers.
Next scene.
A while later, Shep's friends are getting pulled out of the debris and apparently don't think Shep made it. BUT! Yay, the hero is alive and apparently ran too too fast becuase he's got a stich in his side, but it's barely even a scratch.
Not so fast. Can anyone account for what happened during Shep's alone time with Saren's body/Sovereign's body? duhn duhn duhhhhhhhnnnn
Really, if he hadn't died, I would have said that Shep has been a Reaper or indoctrinated since then.
I don't know if its been brought up, but the parallel between Saren's cybernetics in ME1 and Shepard's in ME2 is just a little disconcerting.
Coupled with TIM's freaky-ass eyes, I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be an agent of the Reapers in ME3.
You die. You wake up in a strange lab. Strange people tell you they resurrected you. With technology. Expensive technology that takes 2 years. These people tell you they're part of an evil organisation you have fought. They tell you you're a big investment with a lot riding on your success. They tell you there was cybernetics and stuff involved. You know what I would do?
Ask more fucking questions.
asking questions about a handwave in a bioware game is a dangerous idea
they are liable to think way too hard about it, and then explain it in painstaking detail while the collectors have sex with your wife

That being the standard MASS EFFECT injury.
Ouch, my ribs.
Are you dead ?
That depends. Did you do my loyalty mission ?
Nope, sorry, didn't have time and you're too boring of a character anyway.

Ack ! Tell Mordin I always loved hi...
That's a good idea: In the third game, Shepard should make the crew do loyalty missions.
Grunt will have to track down your fourth grade bully and beat him up.
see the little bit of the sentinel I played was kind of the opposite
tech armor is kind of a boring special, and overload and warp are the dullest, if among the most useful, of their respective power types
I don't know, there's something about being able to strip any enemy of their defenses and then slamming them into the floor with a properly angled throw.
I got bored with vanguard and started over with a sentinel.
So far I'm enjoying throwing all sorts of powers out everywhere without the restrictions placed upon an adept. And without sucking like an engineer.
Engineers don't suck. They just don't. I actually did the Mordin loyalty quest with Tali recently because I wanted to hear the line
she says when Shep talks about Quarians and tummy aches.
The point is that the double engineer was a good combo - gave her exploding drones while I had attack drones. I was afraid this wouldn't work on insanity but it was surprisingly good. I've gone from thinking that certain team builds are almost automatic to being much more flexible. I don't even haul Miranda's genetic ass with me on every mission any more.
Does anyone know if you can head back to the Migrant Fleet after finishing Tali's mission?
I didn't realize you could talk to the Admirals afterwards and I'd like to back and do that, if possible.
it would definitely make taking a certain crew member with you easier
Assuming you didn't
let Rea'gar die fighting the Geth, you can also have a good chat with him after the loyalty mission and the hearing are over. He implies that he knew what Rael was up to, but he obviously doesn't intend on telling anyone as he seems to be pretty loyal to Tali and probably to Rael's memory.

Miranda gets much less useful in the game once you start building up more of your skills and get more complementary specialist team members to bring with you.
In some cases and depending on the class, even Jacob is more useful than Miranda thanks to squad incendiary ammo and pull.
She's great for early games though when you need more of an all-round team member than a specialist.
Next question: Does bringing you-know-who on Tali's mission replace dialogue or add dialogue?
Recruitment or Loyalty?
Recruitment, I believe she tries to shoot him and you have to hit an interrupt to stop her, otherwise Legion goes and hides behind a crate for a little bit, or something. She freaks out, believing one of the heretic geth brought her in.
Loyalty? Oh yeah. Accostled at the docking bay, "OBJECTION! TALI BROUGHT A GETH ON TO THE FLEET!" and nobody noticed it until then, extra dialogue based off of how Shepard knows about the heretic/normal geth, Legion chiming in on the different Admiral's opinions, it's just a boat full of whacky laughs.

It's decided. My next playthrough will be a vanguard.
:^: Fucking A, sir. Now you get to headbutt people every fight.
Coming from an infiltrator to a vanguard, the combat didn't really click for me.
Then I put a point into Pull. Sweet jesus this is how Shep is meant to roll. I find I almost never use shockwave as it recharges too slowly and puts you in the firing line for too long while you unleash it. The charge is handy a few times per battle but pull is my goto power for causing chaos.

unless you're playing sentinel, Miranda never stops being useful
even without bringing up the squad bonuses, you won't strictly need more than one each of Overload and Warp but it's incredibly useful
I'm playing Vanguard on Insanity and I'm pretty much following one rule: if Charge is up, I use it. The only exception is if I'm dealing with Ymir Mechs, then it can be suspended. I'm about 4 recruitment quests in and have died all of once, so it's working for me so far.

Any other way of playing Vanguard is the wrong way.

Right, but TIM knows that they knew. Say what you want about him, but he doesn't strike me as an idiot.
Also, I'm actually half glad I clicked that Shutter Island spoiler. On one hand, I spoiled myself, on the other I think I'll actually see it now.
I was so, so wrong.

that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat

god thats awesome
oh pc how I long for you, so I can make Mordin heads on Suze's body.
Bizarre and quite cool at the same time.

My first playthrough on veteran was an infiltrator, and I hear they are great for insanity. But I've already done a playthrough with snipes mcgee.
Totally doing this on my next playthrough.

?
Do this 20 times.
Bam, tactician achievement.

bring Miranda and a specialist
Is it usually better to go with the health or damage one?
I assumed damage, but curious if there was better input or specifics.
Depends.
If it's a choice between powers/weapons and the character is power-heavy with crap weapons (Jack) I take powers.
If it's health/weapons and the character is weapon-heavy I'll take weapons.
But that's not optimal.
Ah yes,
