Yeah, I definitely want Garrus around, and not just because he has all the best lines in ME2.

So some of the non-ciditel races are in pretty good postions
Krogen are finally pulling together under Urdnot
Quarians have the biggest fleet in the Galaxy
Geth have achieved sentience and dislike the Reapers

Got a feeling they'll all play a major role in ME3 especally the Quarians and Geth conflict.

I think the ones likely to return in some capacity are:
Tali, secret team guy, Mordin, Garrus, Tali, and maybe Jacob+ Miranda

Dox: It wouldn't surprise me , if a war under false pretenses
geth being primarily responsible for the citadel attack
occurs. And the reapers end up getting ignored while this occurs by the Council races.

It would be a nice twist
if Jack returns in ME3, but only if she was Shepard's romance, where she learned to finally trust somebody.

I want Garrus to be the first recruitable character in ME3, with his recruitment mission just being you driving your hover car outside of a bar, where Garrus proceeds to burst out of the doors being chased by a bunch of mercs, and he's yelling "SHEPARD START THE CARRR" and slides across the hood of your car.

When both of you are safe you just fist pound and put on some aviators

Didn't ME1 have council mandated max fleet ratios of something like 5:3:1 for Turians:Asari:Humanity?
I don't know what the alien losses were like at the citadel battle in ME1. Renegades will obviously have a decent human fleet remaining, whereas paragons might not, but my renegade also overheard an announcement (on Omega or the citadel) in ME2 about the asari surrendering their fleet responsibilities/quotas to the turians.

Before ME1 Humanity had around over 200 ships. The Migrant Fleet is made up of 50,000 ships, though we don't know how many are actually fit for combat.

TIM says Quarians, but the planetary descriptions in the system where Haestrom is mention a fleet of thousands of Geth ships that regularly patrols the area. And that's not even their main fleet. If the Geth have presumably tens of thousands of ships in top working order, the Quarians have no prayer against them. Which is pretty much what K'al R'eagar says when you ask him about the prospect of a war.

On a different note: goddamn Asari Ally. I don't even know. I'm just going to make a new Shepard, do all the shit I want to do, and keep her in my party the whole time. If it happens, it happens, and if it does not it does not. I've tried rushing through on casual twice now and bupkis.

Yeah, the only way to get Asari Ally is to do the absolute bare minimum of plot missions to get your ass off the Citadel, then rush to rescue Liara, then do pretty much every single possible plot and side mission with Liara in your party at all times.

It's something to aim for while trying to get to 60, but holy crap I'm glad I'm not OCD enough to have to do an entire run just for that shit.

So while playing through ME2, I found some of the information TIM gave me sounded really familiar.
Namely, the bit about the dead reaper ship they found, and the huge ass mass accelerator cannon hit on a neighboring solar system's planet. While performing one of my ME1 side quests today, my travels took me to the century system of hawking eta, and consequentially, to it's moon Prenum. Thus, I was in a rare situation where I could see the "great rift" that is mentioned both in ME1's flavor text about the planet, and the same rift mentioned in ME2 when they theorize about how the reaper died.

Did anyone else have issues with the Ally achievements in ME1? I played through the entirety of the game with Tali and Wrex (Added to party as soon as I got them to join up), and it's apparently having nothing to do with it.

If you actually played through the entirety of the game (subquests and all) and didn't get it around the time you are grounded, something is wrong.

So are there theories on what caused that canyon to form on mars? Erosion, massive impact from a huge asteroid or comet?

Do you happen to not have either dlc? Not sure if it helped, but when I went back and got all the ally achievements- Bringing Down the Sky was part of it.

edit: It was strange for a while (in terms of achievements) ME had me saying I had say 43 out of 46 (whatever available) and other times it said 43 out of 49 (when I didn't have Pinnacle Station)... just throwing out ideas if you literally did a checklist of quests O_o

No, they found this huge valley and no one in the scientific community ever thought about it, really.

Also, ostensibly benevolent AIs steering the course of human development is an awesome idea. Because the big question will always be - how can you know what their true motives are? They are more powerful and intelligent than we can ever analyse.

I'm not a fan of TIM being an AI. It seems he is meant to represent the best and worst of humanity (or so I've heard); making him an AI would undermine that.

Its sorta like making Gaius Baltar a cylon.

edit: also by 2185 or whatever, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a work around for people who want to smoke regularly.
