I catch my head jerking at the screen when Shepherd headbuts someone off of a platform to their death. It's that cool to play.
I've found that it's better a a counterattacking power than a breakthrough power; i.e. let someone try to rush you or get to close then toss them back instead of trying to be waaaaaaaaay ahead of your squaddies by being overly agressive with it.
What's the best armor with it? The cerberus assault armor?
the assault armor doesn't have anything the N7 won't get eventually
now that I've gotten comfortable with the vanguard I am ridiculously aggressive with it
now I'm on Veteran, not insanity so there's that
if you go for the biggest, baddest guy they got and take him down fights can end absurdly quickly
I often only need the three shots currently in my eviscerator to end a fight
Wait until you get the Claymore shotgun. Three shots to kill something smaller than a Colossus means you missed the first two times you pulled the trigger.
And name one outdoor level that the Normandy or Big Normandy could do anything to help out. How would it even help out? Shooting at planets is a war crime, you know.
Edit: Also I don't think red herring means what you think it means.
ok, how about bringing down the sky. balak has to leave the 'roid at some point! or zaeeds recruitment, why bother let vido sail off into the distance. or the collossus. bladibladibla. It's not unimaginable that the normandy has none ME powered weapons, as geth ships have small laser like weaponry attached to theirs.
and i'm pretty sure i know what i mean when I say red herring.
have another.
the codex isn't all too clear (i.e. no available data) on the matter.
power costs increase for mass reduced, me relays are the only objects that can reduce ships to 0 or -0 mass (view the old thread for 4 pages of pseudo-science).
the only "agrument" i can think of in regards to bullets is that they don't seem to travel at light speed or faster and therefore different rules apply.
as the codex explains, once people turn tail and run at FTL, there is no catching or tracing them. they are fucking gone. and the reason you can't use it on the collossus is because the buildings are fragile, as tali explains, and would blow the shit out of the observatory tali is inside. she would be crushed and die.
a nice thing about the drywall sci-fi in ME is that, by and large, it is justified. they don't just say "dilithium crystals, deflector shields, reverse polarity, done". you just need to accept that there is a substance in the galaxy that we have not discovered yet that stops conventional physics working at all when you put electricity through it.
except for the lazarus project, that was literally JesusTech

I went AR. I wanted something a bit more effective at range to deal with stuff I can't charge (dudes on unreachable ledges) and shit I don't want to charge (fuckin' scions)
The Eviscerator lives up to its name, so I haven't missed the Claymore.
Also, I love the re-spec option. I'm rolling squad cryo ammo on the IFF mission and it's excellent. I've no use for this shit anywhere else, but I'll take it.
I am less pleased I couldn't have Thane or Samara max throw, because the game's a fucking dick with teammate squad points.
is there any good fucking reason that ME2 on my xBox has to stop my game when I lose an internet connection?
damn it's pissing me off, bioware, great dialog, fun games, but their software design is shit
edit: I still haven't been able to get my single player console game to work because my $100 xbox wireless card is having difficulty keeping a constant stream of information 10 feet from my access point
ME2 is simply refusing to believe that someone who cannot keep a consistent connection to xBoxLive wants to play their game, it just keeps saying "a sign in change... blah blah. restart"
I don't know, maybe after 10 restarts it can say, hey buddy, do you want to play the game that is a saved file on your HDD anyways even though your internet connection sucks? do you still want to play a game that has absolutely zero reason for an internet connection despite your lack of internet connection?
I mean for fucks sakes, this is why people play console games, so they don't have to troubleshoot a network to play a game they bought for $60 at a store

Just don't connect to XBL at all and sign in using that profile. You'll be in "offline mode," aka not connected to XBL, and shouldn't have an issue.

I was reading Destructoid's Postpartum Impressions on ME2 tonight and this line jumped out at me: "On an even more unrelated note, the "skip dialogue" and "choose dialogue" buttons need to be separate. Always. Characters nearly died because of this."
Motherfucking YES. Oh my god, yes. Agreed. Ditto. Absolutely. It is unbelievable how often skipping through a character's dialogue will accidently turn into selecting the default conversation choice for Shepard. Like, if it's a really really long piece of dialogue, you're probably safe. But when it gets to medium length or shorter pieces of dialogue, you're pretty much guaranteeing that your skipping is gonna lead to mistakenly entering a conversation choice that you never got a chance to see. It's a goddamn crapshoot. I think this problem arises because of the way that ME2 does its dynamic conversation system where the dialogue wheel's gonna pop up right in the middle of a character's speech. So they're talking and you can pick a reply before they're done. But this just screws you in the ass when you're skipping dialogue.
And it's weird, because the skip dialogue button is X, while normal people are gonna enter their choice with the button A. So why would skip dialogue be X and then transform into the functionality of A? Why not just keep X solely dedicated to skipping dialogue? You've got the A button there to choose the conversation option you want, there's no need for the X button to butt in on A's business, ya know?
Now, you might be asking me... hey dude, ME2 has great dialogue and voice acting. Why the hell are you skipping past all of that rich gooey goodness? I dunno why I came up with rich and gooey as adjectives, but it felt right. It felt right. Anyways, I would have to respond that yes, you are correct good sir. ME2 does have great voice acting and characters that you grow to love and yea, it does seem kinda silly to want to skip past all of that. Except that I've played through the damn game 3 times already. I loved playing through it those three times. But now that I'm on my fourth playthrough... sometimes I just wanna skip past stuff I've already seen. I've been around the block, I've smelled all the roses, it's great. But I've got other things to do. I wanna get to the combat. So yea, it helps to skip past some of that dialogue that I've practically memorized.
You mean Kick ass black and red armor that has the best stats of all armors in ME1.
I always think it's more of a pinkish color. And it does have the best stats, but as far as looks go, I'd rather wear something else. ME1 really isn't hard enough on any difficulty, especially by the time you're able to get colossus armor, that it matters if you have the best stats or not.
On another topic, here are four pictures with Grunt in them!
that first one, the camera angle always makes it look like grunt is the size of a goddamn T rex
20 pages late, but thank you so much for that particular shot, Pancake. I loved it, but I'm on the 360 so I couldn't snap it myself. After seeing that I was disappointed with Grunt's actual size

Lame? You guys and your obsession with seeing your characters' faces. Just use the defaults and stop worrying about it.
this coming from the perv goggle fan.
Admit it, those things are ugly!
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
I fukken DIED.
Fornax costs 44 credits. That kid trying to get hired as a freelancer bought his pistol for 50 credits.
I like the irony inherent in this post.
It's high quality porn, man.
I mean, why does a pistol cost 50 credits...but damage upgrades cost 50000.

i nuked that thing, the Normandy can't do much worse
They can look cool in a Colossus Armor sort-a-way on the right Shepard.
Absolutely none what-so-ever.
They always look cool.

Not exactly sure what irony you're seeing, but for those who reported that post you might want to read the Glorious Edict again.
Ugly black and dark pink armor in the first game.
thanks, this cleared up the issue

They would if they installed pink lights.
