It sure was hilarious to see you switch between normal and ghost to take shadow ball and focus punch. Then I was like, screw this, I'm not falling for the oldest trick in the book!

Oh man.
OH MAN. STICKY HOLD ALL UP INS!
Ink, seeing as you don't have the number for the battle with Chen yet (do you?), I'll save and upload this one. I wanna see the tomfoolery with Chen so baaad.
You can see the video's number on your Battle Recorder, I think.
I uploaded the fight before I started this one, and I saved the battle number. Just didn't reveal it because I wanted to use the same team to fight someone else.
anyway, here it is.

Ink. Ink. INK!
I thought I had used Curse there. MISCLICK.
WHAT. WHAT. WHY CAN THAT EVEN DO THAT. Oh yeah seedot.
At the Gamestop store I work at, Soul Silver reservations outnumber Heart Gold almost 2:1. I find that surprising. I would've pegged Heart Gold as the bigger seller since gold is the more precious metal and also gold is 1st place and other stuff like that. I guess is it because the word "heart" makes it girly or something? I dunno. Or is it because Lugia is more popular than Ho-Oh?

I bought Silver this time because I had bought Gold the first time around. That's about it.

The Most Unfortunate Death Ever
72-95417-37873
Poor TheBoulder. Ink, I thought I'd fucked up so badly when I let you Trick those Specs onto Lachesis. Man, I'm quite pleased with how she fared otherwise, though. I think she may become a staple.
Gertrude also rocked in the aborted-by-wifi match, she's going to get more use. Beltaine... welp. I just don't know what to do with Beltaine. Remember our chat about my 'Rejects' pile? It kills me, but I might have to put Beltaine there.
That wasn't an unfortunate death, that was a sacrifice to get Empoleon in to fire off a Tidal Wave.
Boulder couldn't do anything but sucker punch or stall and neither were likely to work.
I really don't see why Typhlosion doesn't learn Earth Power. Your problems would be solved I think, if it could get that move.

Well, I do have a Ground move with that Typhlosion. It is not Dig.
That Typhlosion SHOULD be really good, but like I said, I am not great at using it.
I totally don't know what the fuck is going on in this match. I sorta remember the fight, those are some weird choices I made though.
Great music by the way. What is it?
When you ask me if I want the videos subtitled, I didn't realize that you were using your Japanese copy of SS. Some limited subtitles, or youtubes annotations, would probably be good in the future.

Hehe. I don't really plan to buy the American version of HGSS, though, so I will always have to add subtitles =(
The music is a remix from some DDR song.
BTW, expect a new FC, because I just got a DSi. I could transfer the Wi-fi settings, but I can't say the reason why I'm not doing that.

So at that doubles tourney I went to, I think there were at least four trick room teams.
At least four. Specifically built for doubles.
It was so. Frustrating.

It actually wasn't the trick rooming that was frustrating, it was the constant protecting that they did on my priority attacks.
I never actually lost to a trick room team, but that's also because the people using them were horrible.

I wasn't expecting to face that many teams that were specifically engineered for doubles.
I was pretty happy when the Jim/Bojangles team swept five pokemon in the quarterfinals, though.

charizard doesn't have the amazing fighting type which is basically free resists and a powerful stab that goes perfectly with fire. heatran is in ou too
why are seeing teams specifically designed for doubles in a doubles tournament strange?

Because it hasn't happened at the last four ones I've been to?
Actually, the only reason why it happened at this one is because one dude trained teams for about four other dudes who didn't really understand how to play, so their trick room teams weren't very effective.
And then there was the team that had 5 guys with intimidate. That was...interesting.

if people are using random pokemon with strength in doubles tournaments they can't really be called that. Probably the easiest doubles to pick up and go is zapdos/garchomp/rotom/flygon. start with protect against obvious priority/explosions then spam discharge and earthquake. Throw a yache berry on garchomp too just for kicks.

It was OU rules, Garchomp was banned.
Their teams were very specifically made to have synergy and be powerful together in a trick room setting.
The intimidate team actually made it to grand finals. I didn't stay for the finish, because I was due to meet my father for dinner.
I only won 25 in gift cards for my participation. Almost everything that could have gone wrong in my final match did, including a clutch critical hit that removed my one poke that could have swept the remaining pokemon.
A clutch critical on that same pokemon is also what sent me into the loser's bracket.

garchomp is generally not banned in doubles because it's nowhere near as powerful as the sword dancing yachechomp that ko's everything in sight not named skarmory and bronzong

Opened with Shuckle and Slowbro. Turn one Shuckle Power Trick'd while Slowbro Trick Room'd. Then they destroyed everything.
TR just makes a lot more sense in doubles where you don't have to waste a turn setting up, then switching to your bruiser.

I swear I should check my Luxray's IV's because I'm pretty sure he's got a 1 in in Speed or something. He CANNOT win speed fights.
