I'm not good enough to be a Gym Leader. Nor do I have enough 'mons to do it well.
As for dragon type... huh. Sceptile looks like a dragon and learns Dragon Pulse but shares the Ice weakness, Gyarados has Dragon Dance, Charizard is a dragon... uh.
Salamence, Flygon, Dragonite, Altaria, Kingdra... am I missing any?

Anybody have a Petaya berry? I need one for this poke, and I don't have my copy of PBR with me.
I can give a nice salac berry in exchange :O

Here's a really rough draft. The G&T Pokémon League
Hi! Welcome to the exciting world of Pokémon! As an aspiring young Pokémon Trainer you're welcome to enter the G&T Pokémon League and prove your worth by challenging various skilled Trainers and earning their badges! Each badge will edge you closer to becoming a Pokémon Champion! Dare to give it a try?
Standard Gym Rules
Each Gym Leader is bound to a certain type. A minimum of four Pokémon must adhere to that type. A Gym Leader may summon two species of a different type if he or she desires. However they must abide by having a move of the gym's type. For all intents and purposes, Hidden Power is of the Normal type.
You may choose any six Pokémon he or she wishes to challenge any Gym Leader. However you must abide by the following rules:
Uber Clause: The use of Uber Pokémon is forbidden. Click here for a list of Ubers. Legendary Clause: The use of Legendary Pokémon is forbidden. Click here for a list of Legendaries. Sleep Clause: You cannot put two of your opponent's Pokémon to sleep at the same time. (Rest not applicable) Evasion Clause: No moves that increase evasion such as Double Team and Minimize may be used. Things like Sand-Attack and Sand Veil are still legal. Species Clause: No two of the same Pokémon may be used on one team. One-Hit KO Clause: One-hit KO (OHKO) moves, such as Horn Drill or Sheer Cold, are forbidden. Selfdestruct Clause: The moves Selfdestruct, Explosion, Perish Song, Destiny Bond, or any other such move may not be used if both players only have 1 remaining Pokémon. If a player uses one of those moves under this condition, they automatically lose.
Optional Gym Rules
Item Clause: The use of the same item is limited to one per team.
(More to follow.)
Gym Activity
A Gym Leader may lose his or her status through inactivity. If a Gym Leader does not respond to your challenge by PM, please notify us by posting in this thread.
You may challenge an active Gym Leader and take over his or her gym by defeating him or her and abiding to the Gym Leader Rules. To clarify, you are limited to four Pokémon of that particular gym's type and two Pokémon of a different type that must carry a move of the gym's type.
Codes of Conduct

Only if they use a minimum of four of the same type and they're willing to take over the gym. You can challenge them back or take a stab at a different gym.
Are we strictly bound to what we put on the trainer card?
I think I'm gonna try mono-type at least at first. Aerial Ace is the only common flying move for none-flyers, and only technicians can really make it worhwhile. And neither Scizor nor Ambipom really help cover weaknesses. Scizor resists ice, but that's generally a special attack and he's a physical blocker.

Yes, but you can change it at any time. Not sure how this will work out as I can't edit the OP, but I'm not a fan of being stuck with a pool of 6 or even 12. The reason is that HG/SS has some really cool egg moves that I want to take advantage of and creating a fixed team now means I can't use them until I beat HG/SS and breed them.

Still I might make one later.
Well just remember Flying moves have a way of sneaking around, like the
Tailwind MT
and
Empoleon with Featherdance in HG/SS

I already have defense against electric with Gliscor though. Ice is the one I'm mostly looking to guard myself from. Gyarados helps but I'd like out-and-out resistance.
Well, Roost helps eliminate flying weaknesses for a turn, although it doesn't help Flygon much. True.

Well, I am officially ready to give my steel gym a "Test Run" if anybody wants to attempt it.

I made one for the Frontier and I only rarely need to switch it out. And it can beat Stage 1 Palmer's team all by its lonesome.

I beat palmer in no time. Choice band infernape puts some hurt down(OHKO'd his milotic), but I think it's going to end up screwing me up so I should get my hands on a life orb. The ai is smarter than in emerald, they have stuff like sword dance/roost scizors, rain dance kingras, and shucca berry metagrosses.

Real answer though: Roosting Flygon.
It just keeps gettin' worse!

Empoleon wouldn't be a bad choice.

I just don't have the time to get things ready, and I don't want to take up a spot that somebody else could be actually using .
Best of luck to the Leaguers, though.

Yeah I mean, perfect world I'd have both, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make in order to make my team not get fucked up the ass from turn 1.

But it's all good, because we get Mine Sweeper! With Voltorbs!
Whee.

I was always terrible with the slots.
Butler, you betrayed me.
Just see if I play HGSS with you now.
Turtwig starter, just caught my Shinx and Starly
