    Just as an additional resource, if anyone still is looking over the possible options-
    I found looking over the wikitravel entries and following links to wider or nearby areas of interest a pretty handy way of building up an idea of the options and offerings in and around each area.

    I found it a helpful starting point, at least, if a little uneven and perhaps not as deep as it could be in places, but certainly a clean and quick place to run an eye over.

    I then complimented that with Lonely Planet to provide additional information, perspective and depth.

    Man, two huge earthquakes within weeks of each other, torrential rain in several parts of Australia, and several other weird things I was thinking of but now I forgot.

    Either el Nino is really being a dick this time around or it's the end times!

    Nope, it wasn't me, but my wife told me she saw someone downtown with a PA shirt earlier this week, so I assume it was that guy. It's the only time I've ever heard of anyone other than myself or my wife with a PA shirt in Wellington.

    Also, you're totally allowed to let me know these things in advance or even just while you're here if you want to catch up sometime, if even for nothing more complicated than a handshake and a drink.

    the extent of my time on campus is class and then back to the bus stop to go to work :(

    I almost completely forgot that I was coming up until like the day before. I was also only there for like 15 hours anyway, wouldn't have had time do much of anything even if I had remembered.

    Also I resent that last sentence. There are heaps of decent places to hang out. Half the time it's about the company you're with. If everyone is enjoying themselves then it doesn't always matter.

    Skeptics always blame el Nino though, so I thought I would allow for that.

    I'm sure someone crazy enough could come up with Pseudo-science reason el Nino could cause earthquakes.

    I saw this thing where Bill O'Reilly had Bill Nye and some guy with REALLY terrible teeth arguing over climate change.

    Made me so angry because this guy's arguments were SO STUPID AND HE HAD UGLY TEETH!

    I saw a guy with a PA hoodie at the ski fields once. But I think I have seen most of you guys' pictures, and he was none of them. He was probably wierded out that I kept looking at him.

    Also yes rain! I drove through a 6 inch deep pool of water for about 20 metres this morning. I haven't driven through water before and was freaking out that something bad would happen to my car. Luckily the hippy van in front of me cleared a path through it.

    Wasn't as bad as Melbourne obviously, shiiiiit!

    Two elections ago the opposition proposed to run a pipe from the north of WA to perth, it basically cost them the election cause it would be so expensive but it would basically future-proof the city.

    The eastern seaboard really should end up doing something similar. It would also be a lot of money but it would probably be slightly more affordable since it would be over three cities.

    Golden Plains was fucking awesome. About 50mm of rain over the weekend, gumboots are the greatest things ever invented. I'm glad we didn't get hit by that hail though.

    She's right though. Snuck is only pushing in by people making the mistake repeatedly, it's not proper. It will probably be widely accepted in a few years or decades or so.

    What's weird about it is it doesn't follow the format of other similar words, but still seems more right
