Since I see so many Bostonians here, if anyone knows anyone who has a place I can can crash for a few days after pax let me know.... Army has kind of screwed the pooch and left me in boston from the 29th until 9th without a place to sleep.
I'm willing to cook/clean, and throw you a couple of bucks when I get paid....
I just need to be in Fort Devens on the 9th and they've got no place for me to sleep until then, nor can I afford to come back home, and go back up on the 9th.
Curious... what is Bringing you to Ft. Devens? I thought that they went through Brac... and were not longer and active station.
((Sorry, not much on the army side of life. LOL))
My only worry is -- that I don't know you. You know? And I imagine that would be the worry of a few people here.
Have you checked with Hanscom... or the coast guard station in Boston. I know it's $$ you don't want to spend, but it would be cheap.

But yes to both, they do still have the bus running this way (I think it stops just outside the gate) and the rooms (in the winter) are rarely booked to capacity.

Yeah if your orders don't start until the 9th theres not much you can do, I'm guessing you're a guard/reserve guy? Would have been too convenient for your school to start right after PAX huh.
Sometimes you can get a room for cheap on base based on your rank. Like 10 or 20 bucks a night. There is also the hostel right next to PAX which is booked up but I am sure will be clear when PAX clears out.
Other than that, good luck couchsurfing. I'd let a fellow troop stay if he needed a roof, but I'm not in Boston
You have a military ID right? Hanscom will provide a room to anyone with a military ID... the only problem would be ---- that usually without orders they won't give you a reservation until 24 hours before your check-in.

Learn something new...
Nope, I was supposed to start on the 1st and apparently they messed up my orders and now I dont start until the 9th.
Have those orders been printed yet?
And do those orders have a release date... AND/OR a Report No Later Than Date (RNLTD)?
