Troubles connecting a 360 to an airport.

So I got a new roomie who has a 360, and we'd like to network our 360's so we can have fun, but my airport router won't let his box connect. Mine connects just fine using a wireless connector and all automatic settings, but with the same setup, he can't get the router to assign him an IP address.
I have tried using a wired connection, but same problem.
I have tried manually assigning an IP address, but that will also not work.
I'd like to access the router and try and fudge with some settings there, but
A) I don't know what an airport's internal IP is, and
B) I've never fudged with MAC settings, so I wouldn't know where to begin.

Any ideas?
