Here's what's going on. My friend wanted me to do a clean install of Windows XP on his computer, while at the same time getting rid of his dual-boot screen. There was a slight problem, and I'm a slight retard, and I accidentally messed up in editing the boot.ini file. So now we can't boot into his original hard drive.
I figured this wasn't really that big of a deal. It was the drive that was about to get reformatted anyway. Just install Windows on his other HDD, and then move everything important over from the old hard drive to this new one, then reformat and reinstall Windows on the old one.
That won't work either. He had Windows password protected, so it just says "Access is denied."
So what I need now is either the correct line to put in the boot.ini file, or some way of accessing the old content from this new Windows install.
