wireless mouse & keyboard - will it zap through a wall?

My tv+computer+netflix = pure love. But the tv/dvd remote, it does nothing. Solution? Wireless keyboard and mouse! Which kind? IR, RF, Bluetooth? The keyboard/mouse is going to be about 10 feet away from my computer, but is probably going to have to send a signal through a wall or 3. Here's the ontology of my living room:

IR won't work unless you have a repeater in the same room that you can run back to the computer.

I expect that Bluetooth is your best option, and depending on other RF interference in the room you could have a problem. I have been able to use a WiiMote between three walls over 20 feet away from the base Wii, so I know that the Bluetooth can reach. It will all depend on the power of the device you acquire. Verify the return policy from wherever you purchase your electronics and then based on that get a Bluetooth setup and try it out.

    Love George Bernard Shaw quotations.

Also, I can count to "boat".

In my experience, most wireless mice/keyboards have really awful range, like 10-15 feet with no walls for agood one. You'll probably need a speciality item to make it work.

Bluetooth will probably work, assuming you don't have much metal in your walls. I can use bluetooth from 30ft away and 10 ft up (bathroom breaks while playing PS3 w/ a headset on). It's not great at that distance, but it works.
