Saw this on digg, thought it was pretty fucking nifty.
It's apparently a bit buggy and slow on some computers...but hey, it's the first release, and whatever, works perfectly fine on my crappy Inspiron 1300 with integrated video card.... no crashes, very smooth:
Could you please at least link one of the articles?
All I see is a cube. This add-on looks the kiddy.
It's pretty self explanatory, really.. it gives tabs in Firefox this really cool effect reminiscent of Virtual Desktops on OSX and some of those Linux customizations out there.
Just try it... it's like 46kb, not a big install or anything at all.
How can your eyes stand this? My computer's not rendering it slowly, but it's abominable to look at.
Anything that slows down the rendering of a page is unendurable for me.
Maybe we can turn this into the general firefox extension thread. I love the answers.com extension except the text matches the color of the page you are on (white text+white background ftl).
This works pretty well with mouse gestures...the switch tab gesture "feels" like I'm grabbing the edges of a cube. (you sorta make an upside down L shape.)
I had the crashing problem too.. Turns out i hadn't updated to Firefox 2 on the home pc! Works sweeet and smooth as now! Not seeing any of the delay mentioned by some. Thanks for the heads up! Now if i can just stop switching between tabs constantly i might be able to read something...
Version 1.1 just came out. Like, a minute ago.
- The URL bar dropdown menu is displaced out.
- Crashing the browser (I think it is fixed, but it is not occured in my environment, so it might actually be not fixed)
Sporky, mausmalone, maybe this will fix your problems.

It would be better if you could customize the spin speed.
But it's a great start, just needs some more features.

It's been so long since I've posted here, I've removed my signature since most of what I had here were broken links. Shows over, you can carry on to the next post.
Um, slightly offtopic, but I somehow got my profile switched in Firefox, and my bookmarks and cookies are all gone. How do you get to that profile manager thing to change it back?
Edit: nevermind, I found it, but it didn't fix my problem. Gah.
Edit2: Solved my problem, had corrupted my bookmarks file because I guess I hard rebooted while firefox was backing them up. I restored them from a backup and it's fine now, aside from my lost cookies (heh), which aren't as important.

And quite possibly snazzy as well.

I'm finding that too. I'm actually missing the effect every time I click a link that doesn't open up in a new tab.
Hopefully the author adds it as an option in the next iteration...

So... it flips when you flip tabs? does it flip for every tab or only at the moment you select the one you want?

The framerate of this video is attrocious, btw -- it's much, much smoother on even my crappy laptop -- but you get the idea.

edit: here's a better framerate'd, but shorter video:

It's very smooth in action.

edit: don't get me wrong. The youtube links are a great supplement and I thank you for that.
...but it didnt.

Mouse-over preview for tabs

Gives ctrl-tab a windows alt-tab kind of feel

Wii code: 3958 1709 0590 7018
that's awesome, is it static, or all slidey-animated-cool?

I installed it, made two tabs, clicked between them, cool
Then I went file -> new tab again and FF crashed (disappeared)
When I reopen it, it asks if I want to restore my session and if I do it crashes again
EDIT: Just did it again with a new session. Creating a third tab crashes FF.
EDIT2: And now I can't create any more tabs at all. Hooray.

Yeah... ditto me. I just uninstalled it and it's all good again.
Oh well

1.1 fixed the stupid delay for me.
[spoiler:e6fcbb4ade] I'm sorry  [/spoiler:e6fcbb4ade]
just had to restart the machine...
it's pure awesome.
I've got StrokeIt set so when I hold the right mouse button and use my scroll wheel, it flips between pages. With this, it feels godly.
But it's a great start, just needs some more features.
