Online Image Storage

Hey,

It's my Dad's birthday soon and I'm racking my brain thinking what to get him. He's got a huge picture collection on his pc and doesn't really keep a backup so I was thinking of buying him some form of online storage. Something like Picasso (which has up to 1gb I believe) or Flickr.

Can anyone recommend a particular service?

Things I'd like:

a) Keep the images at their original resolution.
b) Good, reliable service.
c) Preferably some kind of interface integrated in to Windows, with the option to auto-upload new images.

So, any recommendations? I use Flickr personally and like it, but I don't know if it'll fit my Dad's needs.

My sister uses Dropbox and I've heard good things about it. You can upload files by saving them in a special folder and access them like you would files on your hard drive.

I use Google Picasa, and I find it's excellent for my needs (occasional albums put online). It's also got a dropbox function.

Other friends of mine use Flickr, but I haven't used it myself.

Flickr offers 1 year of pro-services for 24.95$ and 2 years for 47.99$ now. That might be a useful gift. Double awesome if you can help him put everything online with correct tags.

Might I also suggest you making a photo album out of some of his photos...the quality of these albums is impressive and it's a great way to keep a physical memory around for whatever he takes photos of.

If you just need a place to back up files, there is Jungle Disk, where you only pay for ever how much space you use. It can be integrated into windows, it's reliable (uses amazon's space) and pretty simple. However, there is no online viewing browser or anything like that. It will also take a while to back up, as with any online storage.

I have space w/ Google and Flickr. I enjoy Flickr more, especially the fact that there are NO limits to how many photos you have vs Google where you pay by the gb (so to speak). I use each for different purposes. They both have easy uploading tools as well.

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
