Hey everyone, just wanted to alert you all to the fact that Barnes & Noble is doing some SERIOUS clearance of their Christmas stock. They've been running a 50% off red-tag clearance for the past few weeks, but today they brought it down to 75% off. I was able to pick up the following:

- Scrabble Signature Edition w/ Glass Board (originally $100, got it for $25!)
- Munchkin deluxe edition, which is the original Munchkin game with a bonus Munchkin mascot Bobblehead, sold for $7!!!
- An interesting looking Fantasy Flight game called "Red November" for $7 as well. Cheap enough to take a chance on when it has like a 6.8 or something user rating at BoardGameGeek.
- Blokus travel edition (2 players) for $5

That seemed to be it as far as really good games go. They also had Star Trek Scene It, and a bunch of other random word games I'd never heard of. Some Thinkfun mind-teaser puzzles, and a limited edition John Deere themed Jenga which cracked me up.

It seems to be confined to brick and mortar stores, as their site still seems to have the normal board game prices.

This sale is always brick and mortar only, selection depends on the location. Basically, whatever christmas games stock they have on hand will be drastically marked down.

Nice finds, though; just don't try to play Red November with Darkewolfe. Blokus is a solid game and fantastic at that price.

I've been to at least 4 different B&N stores around NJ and they all had the 50% off sale going on the past few weeks. The 2 I hit today both were doing 75% off so it seems pretty widespread.

I heard about it from a B&N employee who suggested I go online this morning and put in a website request for my local store to hold a copy of the Scrabble game, since that one is available on the web as well and is a great deal. Worked like a charm.

I would love to grab Red November for 7 bucks, but I don't even see it full price on their website. Guess I'll actually have to go in.

So I wound up picking up a few extra copies of the Munchkin bobblehead edition at this sale for some friends, but I have one extra, that I've decided to give away through the blog I write for. I recently reviewed a new Steve Jackson game, Cthulu Dice, and you can scroll down to the bottom of that review for all the rules on entering the Munchkin giveaway contest. Real basic stuff like leave a comment, follow us on Twitter, etc., but I wanted to make sure the Penny Arcade crowd had a shot at winning. 5 days left.
