Constant CTDs make me sad. M416 continues to please. Rifle grenades make me feel bad till I get double, triple, etc. kills, then I just feel great. Also, that Rush map with the island isn't that bad, you just have to have a team that doesn't sit on the mainland sniping the entire goddamn match. If you can put more than 4 bodies on the island you have a pretty good chance.
Once offense have a representative from two or more squads on the island, things can get out of control pretty quick for the defenders. The trick seems to be killing them off before they can touch land.
There's also a maximum amount of six (6) mines per person, after that your older mines despawn as you plant new ones.
Also, as far as damage is concerned: I've noticed that it seems to take two mines to destroy the biggest tanks, but the smaller tanks and everything else goes down with just one.

Unless you are in that squad with 3 snipers or two snipers and either UAV dude or the medic/assault enabling team sniper on the hill.
I'm trying to get good as a Recon but I guess I don't got magic eye skills or something. Dudes will see my shoulder from like 900 miles away and drop me but I almost always never get the 1 hit kill. I do hang around the defense postions and throw Happy Fun Balls [do not taunt] and Jihad rush tanks with C4. I don't level near as fast as I do as Engineer or Medic but I feel hella useful when an assualt guy drops an ammo box at my feet. HAPPY FUN BALLS FOR EVERYBODY! *huck...huck...huck*
If you're kinda new or unfamiliar with the maps then maybe what's going on is that you're going to spots where a sniper is expected. They see something off a bit and know that's you.

Dropping multiple mortars on the island from the hill is godly, and every sniper on that map should do it.

They may also have the better scope.
Snipers are really generally very easy to spot, especially if they move in any way. And it's pretty easy to pick out the shape of the shoulders and head from a distance. Bushes can help, but if you're just hiding around some rocks or in an urban area, anyone really looking for you will find you pretty easily. And recons are actually harder to spot closer in, I find.
So do you all know about that sniper spot on Laguna Presa, the one by the waterfall?
We joined a game that was 63-10 wondering what the hell was going on until we figured out a full recon squad had been sniping everyone from there the entire game. Our squad then rained mortars and 40mms on them every time we saw a fucking grizzly bear up there, it was glorious

I usually hide in rubble and such. And In deep bushes if possible. I like to think I'm the counter sniper of snipers but I haven't adjusted to BC2 like I have in MW2.
Too many snipers decide that the best place to stand is right at the top of the hill, where they silhouette themselves against the sky.
This.
And it never fails to amuse.
Also Pancaeks is right, recons are actually pretty tough to see closer up because at distance the game strips away detail. Which is what you'd expect, but it means snipers can be much less concealed than they think. Which is great.
You're best off sticking low and going from bush to bush if at all possible.
I try pretty hard to keep myself concealed in bushes, trees, etcetera. I am apparently terrible at it, though. Ever time I situate myself I manage to get maybe one shot off and then immediately afterwards my brains are spattered over the foliage.

I've destroyed large tanks with just one mine. Though my mines tend to group, so maybe one explodes another, which takes the tank out.
Last night I placed a bunch in the center of two MCOMMs. Watched on the map in the pause screen as a tank rolled into that area and then ceased to be.

This is what tends to happen in my experience. I've experimented by leaving down single mines, and even with explosives perk they don't seem to take out the big tanks. Which is why I usually leave the mines in groups of two just to make sure they get the job done. That's still 3 mine spots throughout the map.
It may depend on how fast a tank drives over the mine. One that edges forward might not get the full brunt of a blast as one that drives directly on top of one.

What seems to help me is to hide for a couple seconds after you fire. Duck behind something. Then pop back up. You're hidden when they look to see where the shot came from. Depending on how good your cover is you can get quite a few shots off before needing to relocate.
This fails of course if you get tagged. Though I usually notice when all the bullets fly at me and relocate.

I do like when people fail to account for the kill cam and stay right where they were when they killed you, sure stand right there in that window mr sniper ignore the rpg headed your way.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

I'm just glad they actually work. They were fucking useless in BC1.
You're just getting a jump on BC 3. Carl Gustav is invading the US, not Russia.
da...da...daaaaaaa
This game. So much.
This is how you make a wonky balls out insane campaign, play as the americans defending against an obscure small european country with strange accents.
Just say we attacked in the pre-emptive defense of socialism or something.
Edit: Or because the prince doesn't like his new american car, it keeps giving him speeding tickets.
so hey. if you guys want to make banners for the angry dome, we'll put them up and rotate them every friday.
it has to be .png, and conform to a 512x64 image size limitation
Anyone?

Correctamundo. The wiki page for the weapon itself was kind of tenuous to read, but what I took away from it was: the company that makes the weapon takes its name from a town that takes its name from the king of the country. Pity, though, because I was looking forward to a crazy old weapons designer pic in there. But somehow, this clicks.

Image macros don't help your case.
Until they are destroyed.

Well you can just shoot at them and they kersplode.
I keep thinking "man, that looks unbalanced and heavy" every time I see a recon standing up with a rifle with bipod down.
Movies, public perception, etc.
Because it looks so cool? No clue. I'd rather them be in their up right position myself

As I was searching I stumbled across this and I could not not do this. If I donate to the server will you speak to me again?
Goddamn Comedy Central airing it when I never watch TV.

All it takes is one moment of rage for that person to change classes and mortar your position. If he recognises it from the killcam that is.

But I don't know how sensitive those things are.

That would be more likely to be the king himself. He has a pretty big collection of sport cars. :P
