Man the gun you start with as an assualt is horrible. It's not only innacurate but also weak. It seems like it takes an entire magazine emptied into someones face to kill them.

How? I aim with the gun and shoot. The icon for hitting them even comes up but it just doesn't seem particularly effective. It also bounces around a lot when firing making it fairly innacurate at any decently long range.

Use the grenade launcher. Bullets are for backup for when you run out of grenades (which you never do, just sit on top of an ammo crate).

As was said, short controlled bursts are key. But the XM8 is definitely a vastly superior gun, and you unlock that fairly fast.

Also, moving reduces accuracy considerably, though it is unclear if zooming with RMB improves it thus far.

I haven't played a BF game since i used to play 2142, this game is a lot different. I don't like how the unlocks work in this game as much as in 2142, i cant choose my unlock path which kinda blows. Also im not a MW2 player, i didnt like MW2 at all. This game i like though so far, it's just kind of a shift for me going from playing tons of Global Agenda and MW 1. I'll get used to it i'm sure.

Whenever I attempt to load a single player game, a white box with the text "Please Wait" pops up and never goes away until finally the game gives up and crashes to the desktop. I also can't connect to multiplayer games.

I paid $50 for this game a week ago and have yet to play it, which is pretty awesome.

Always try to crouch or standstill when you see someone, then aim down the sight and fire 3-4 shots in a burst a little over every second. Always aim for the chest and then up, the kick will probably help with getting a headshot. And pretty much always hipfire at close ranges

I maxed out the Assault and Vehicle unlocks so I tried out the Medic.

Didn't really do that well, getting about 350-450 points total per match, as opposed to +1000 with Assault.

Also I sucked at it. I do not like the PKM. I do like healing guys though.

man the medic is bar none the easiest class to get points with

find a group of people and stick with them and toss a medkit in their face every now and then and revive them when they do something stupid and die. Whenever I go medic I find it hard to not end up in the top 3 of a server

Also the burst AK is the best assault weapon I've tried yet. Good damage and great accuracy

the crouch button is on the most akward button too. I keep meaning to change it to the mouse 4 button but forget. I know basic military tactics though, such as crouching and firing and not just standing around. I just find the gun really ineffective. It's probably more to do with my playstyle though. The iron sights kinda suck too.

I can't explain why, but I was saying the same thing, then I switched to the Engineer, found that better. Then went back to Assault and for some reason I was a fuck ton better. Went rom going like 2/12 to just did a round of 12/12.

I think it's just learning the game.

I still can't knife worth a shit. The windup is killing me. Just got level 1! Woo! Finally hitting my stride with the game, and it's a blast!

Awkward? Left Control is standard. Maybe I'm just use to it since that's how it is in most of the games I play though. Wouldn't holding another mouse button inhibit your aiming?

left ctrl is standard? "c" button has been standard in most games i've played. Also it would do the opposite of inhibit my aiming. The Razr has two buttons where a rest my thumb, i use one for knife and one for crouch. It's much nicer and much quicker

Doesn't seem like it. Just like when someone runs up close i just fire from the hip and it seems no less accurate or damaging. Also to clarify on the crouch thing, i think its the fact i have to hold the button down to crouch that is awkward for me. I'd rather just tap it and go into crouch and be able to move around, and tap it again to leave crouch.

How necessary is leading when sniping? I'm getting more comfortable with adjusting height to allow for gravity, but it seems I can never hit anything moving horizontally. It almost feels like I'm trying to lead too much when it isn't needed. It just seems off compared to how much you have to compensate for gravity.

So, my wish list for BC2 so far:

    1. Nerf the shit out of the M60
    2. Some sort of grace period for rezzing
    3. Class caps (at least a server option for them)
    4. Rezzing immunity disappears as soon as the rezzed guy moves or shoots
    5. A server browser that is not awful
    6. Functioning auto-balance and shuffling teams in between maps

Ever tried putting a scope on your AR or LMG? Now fire it, watch the bullets. Have you ever had to compensate for bullet drop for any gun except bolt action sniper rifles? The only exception there is the m95, which doesn't have bullet drop either. This is probably part of why the m60 is so great at a distance.
