Finally got to the big open part of Chapter 11. I am overwhelmed with what to do now. Probably do missions then move onto the Chocobo Treasure Hunt? Max out my Crystarium and then go on to 12 and 13? Grind a certain monster in Chapter 12 for an item to sell, then go back to the Chapter 11 area with hopefully Vanille's Death ability so I can exploit that Adamantoise trick?

I need a clear path otherwise I'll probably go insane in this place.

I'd hardly call Jihl throwaway. She does accomplish some major shit while she's around. The only really throwaway characters are Snow's four NORA buddies.

It was very heavily implied at the end of chapter 11 that you can't go back and I assumed that meant till the end of the game.

I'm just gonna go do chapter 12 then because these missions are getting pretty flipping hard.

I just started there myself, but apparently the Chocobo Treasure Hunt minigame is a great way to earn money. That's what I intend to do.

You unlock it by completing mission 14. Here's a guide site with maps and information on a good number of those quests:

No, she's definitely a throwaway character. She appears in a whole 2-3 cutscenes and then is unceremoniously killed off. That's definitely fitting the concept of a throwaway character.

No, she's definitely a throwaway character. She appears in a whole 2-3 cutscenes and then is unceremoniously killed off. That's definitely fitting the concept of a throwaway character.

Except she actually does shit that has an impact on the plot and characters.
