Anyone have tips on getting demolition kills? I've been going out of my way to blow up buildings I think will have people in them using the grenade launcher, and it usually just results in team kills

So I downloaded the BF2 demo for the Veterans thing (seems easier than reclaiming my '42 key) Are choppers invincible? Jesus christ they just do not go down. I think the best I did was a bit of smoke. And they blow up my MBT in one salvo? :?

Three M60 Medics, 12 CG Explosive MK. II Engineers, and an Assault following the engineers around with ammo boxes is the winning team, 80% of the time.
yeah people don't really care about winning because winning isn't incentivized
they care about getting points. they care about their level bars. that's the little thing that stimulates your reward mechanisms in your lizard brain.
i think this kind of RPG mechanic for FPS games has to be treated really carefully or it can't help but produce awkward gameplay situations, like medics who will rez you even if it's a terrible idea for the team and for you, because they get lots of points for it, or people who don't care about winning because winning gives you very little points.
why do they want points if not to win? logically, points are there to give you better stuff with which to win. but it's not about logic, it's about the "ding" feeling you get when you unlock something.

Also I like playing recon on assault because I get mortars and sensor balls. I'd use the G3 or M14 but I'd rather use a decent close range weapon, so instead I use bolt action sniper rifles (haha get it because the G3 and M14 blow geese.)
So, I'm confused here about the shotgun slugs. From what I can tell, I've ranked up to the point to unlock them. On my weapons/gadgets page, it no longer says 'unlocks at rank:' it just says 'damage, range, rate of fire' and all of them are blank bars. But whenever I actually go into a round, it doesn't show up with a shotgun equipped. Spec 1 has all my normal unlocks, and spec 2 is just the extended magazine for shotguns.
Yeah, the game says slugs unlock at 11 or so, but you really have to hit 15 or 16 (I think).
If the teams are already unbalanced, don't exaggerate or ignore the problem.
The only servers I've found that don't teamstack are the ones with an active moderator presence, kicking team switchers and shuffling the ranks now and then.
Ticking the box to search for servers with PB is useless, btw.
Love all these servers with PB turned off and people whining about hacks.
Funny story about Punkbuster, I was kicked from every BF2142 server I tried to join until I realized that it has Steam's overlay on it's banned programs list
