I don't really buy the λ 3 thing unless there's an HL3 announcement within a considerably short window of time. Otherwise it's not much of a reveal. It's like saying at some point there will be an NHL 2012. If the game is inevitable you can validate any supposed clue you might interpret no matter how far it's reaching.
Speaking of which why is there no hockey on steam?
Because ice is the preferred state of water for Hockey.
The hex converted to decimal: 226 228 226 : 215 197 213 196 228 213 227 ( 201 ) + 211 197 197 197
If it's ASCII it's extended ASCII. Could it be EBCDIC (common mainframe encoding)?
Edit: It IS EBCDIC. It spells: S U S : P E N D ... U N T ( I ) L ... E E E (colon, dots for spacing, and parens added to roughly locate them in the source image.)
Hey, being QSECOFR on an AS/400 many years ago finally pays off!
So, basically, it was an elaborate way of saying "Stay tuned to E3!"
Awesome.
That is pretty awesome. Does that mean that we'll get more Portal 2 info at E3? Or another annoucement at E3.
Anyone with any love of tower defense should buy Defense Grid. They just came out with a couple free DLC levels and are going to an 8 level expansion in April for money.
How do I get these new levels?
Were they included in the patch a couple weeks ago? When I click the DLC link for the game it says none are available.

Yeah, they were automatically included. Now when you start the game you are given a choice to play the regular game of the Borderlands DLC.

I'm not sure what to think at this point, as we've already had Portal 2 announced, so this must be something more dramatic. At least, that is what my heart desires.
In other news, I had a horrible dream that I lost my left arm, and so I paid a Valve employee to play the next games for me so I could at least watch. What an awful dream.

Man up, learn to use your toes.
I did break my arm a long time ago and learned to use the N64 controller with one hand. KBAM might be different though. I might have been forced to play it on a console

I played it for the PS2 some time ago, and I thought it was pretty awesome.
The storyline is sort of cliched (help the rebels overthrow the corrupt dictatorship, etc), but the environment was pretty cool, and the vehicles had a certain flavor that I liked.
Plus, the parachute mechanic was all sorts of awesome, and the stunt positions were great as well, even though they were hopelessly unrealistic.
The merits of Just Cause are irrelevant, since they are paying you $3 to take it when you buy Batman. Which everyone who doesn't own it already should do.

But maybe you own Batman, and are looking for more hot grapple-hook on surface action. In which case you should still wait for Just Cause 2, not least because they somehow think £14 is a fair price for a 4 year old port of a so-so OXbox game.

How playable is Batman with out a 360 controller? The only pc controllers I have are a fight pad and arcade sticks.
They did a real good job mapping the controls intuitively, especially if you have a 4+ button mouse. Hell, quick grapple even got its own button, whereas on the xbox you need to doubletap. About the only negative is that wasd doesn't offer as precise of control when brawling, as you hit a direction and an attack to launch across the room.
Then again, being UE3 and an awesome developer equals full control customization, so there is that.
I assumed it needs analog stick input for controller play. Is it possible to KB+M play with decent results was more my question.
I played it all the way through with KBAM just fine, though I did vastly prefer a 360 controller when I replayed it with one later on. Like many games with a lock pick minigame, this one has one that has a UI that really works better with dual analog sticks, and it's waaaay more satisfying to bash people's face in with a stout thumb press of the X button instead of a piddly little left click.
Still, KBAM is perfectly serviceable here.
Edit: Hey, seven bucks for all of FFXI. How much is that game's monthly fee?
I liked Arkham Asylum so much that one day I might buy it for the 360 and play through it again. Just so I can experience it on my HDTV.
But....but, you can connect your video card to your HDTV.

It's been so long since I've posted here, I've removed my signature since most of what I had here were broken links. Shows over, you can carry on to the next post.

And renaming it is different from deleting it, how? :P
(Yes yes, you can change it back if it b0rks stuff, but it's exactly the same effect as deleting it.)
:^::^::^::^::^::^:
No, it doesn't work like that.
the help article specifically tells you to rename it to clientregistryold.blob.
Maybe steam can read it while making a new one.

I don't think it is (other than having it as a backup), I was just going with the wording on the link I found
Indeed it was, thanks for the (still awesome) link 8-)
Sometimes I'll delete everything except the SteamApps directory
It was the Beatles Rock Band one, but I have no idea where you can watch it.

If he can play music with his feet, surely you could guide Gordon Freeman to victory with your feet, right?
If anyone here has not played Arkham Asylum, get it now.

I can only imagine the PC version being better.
it looks really bad, not as in LOL GRAPHYX, more like bad textures, bad models, awful animations, terrible art direction.
the controls are very weird.
the world isn't as interesting as the JC2 demo.
the shooting is terrible and you're 99% immortal
JC2 does every possible thing better. JC1 is utterly obsolete, there is no real reason to play it. Even the JC2 demo is a lot better.

this is all correct.
Unless you really want to use your arcade sticks, I have no clue on that.
D'awwww yeah.

Unlike say, driving in GTA or any other game with cars.

Goodie, guess I'll get it for the achievement whoring then. :P
