Bit off the topic of conversation, but I can't find an answer on the wiki so was wondering if someone here knew.

Can you put the runes with the same stats on the same gear? Like can I put 3 grandmaster paralyze runes on my sword to really increase the proc chance? Or 3 grandmaster dweomer runes to give +30% spell resist?

    Cheers.

I tested that out with Hale runs before, and stacking seems to work with those. I can't imagine why it wouldn't work.

I had 3 Grandmaster Fire runes on my Starfang and they stacked (I saw 3 +5's come up on every hit).

Played more last night, FINALLY got a tank to take the heat off my roguey self. But I am saddened that the pretty white big bad optional monster didn't have a special death animation. I would have been glorious.

I'm also kinda enjoying the couple of puzzles I've run across so far. And the fade is much more enjoyable.

Before following any advice, opinions, or thoughts I may have expressed in the above post, be warned: I found Keven Costners "Waterworld" to be a very entertaining film.

Heh played through this exact same stuff last night as well, awesome game so far. If you are really hurting for a tank, not that you really need one persay, you can respec Oghren pretty early on with the focus potion from Wade.

The focus potions are so nice, but also kind of break the game. You can basically respec before any fight, to suit the needs of the fight. For instance (spoilers wending wood/mine)
You're forced to take the elf female, so I left Nathaniel (who is my archer). However, when you get the bow from the experiment room, which is made to kill dragons, you're fucked if you don't have an archer. So, even though my character is a combat rogue, I just changed right before the boss to archer, and blew that shit up.

OH. So there is a pretty horrible bug that you can encounter in the Wending Woods. I don't know if this garners being put in the OP, but it is pretty awful. I'll spoiler it, but it's not really spoiling anything, really.
Ok, so when you finish up the Wending Wood, you'll go into a mine. Right from the start, you'll trigger an event that will strip your entire party of your gear. There is a good chance that, later in the dungeon, the thing that will drop the gear that your character (not your party's) wears will not spawn. If it doesn't, you will lose the gear forever. So strip only your character naked when you run into the mine. This way, even if the thing does spawn, your gear will just be in a chest at the end, and you won't miss it. It fucking sucks, and I had to redo the whole thing because once you get to the very end you realize that something messed up and then it's too late.

Abusing focus potions gets expensive fast though, unless you are cheating gold too. They are kind of necessary though. Nathaniel is an archer... assassin? Wtf is with Bioware's love of poorly built archery rogues? If you autolevel him, he takes the useless (to him) assassin backstab talents.

Yeah, there's not really anything for archers to take, though. I gave him full Ranger, and then it's like, I guess you can be a Bard too? The shadow and legionnaire scout specs aren't good for them, either.

Archery just does not fit his backstory. They build him up as some kind of stealth badass. It took four Grey Wardens to capture him. Then you get him, and hellooooo archery.

I just deluded myself that that was the in game penalty for getting killed and having to reload.

Of course that didn't explain why I also couldn't travel anywhere, but it helped some.

It's in the 1.03 patch notes, don't know if it did anything.

it didn't, or a new one cropped up. I haven't noticed anything in awakening so far, but when I was finishing dragon age it still happened to me.

Disappointing. I liked Dragon Age a lot, but I was holding off on the expansion until they fixed that problem. It was pretty aggravating.

I don't like that Awakening doesn't have a full set of achievements.

I do like that I can complete my unfinished ones from Origins while playing Awakening.

For those of you with the loading times bug, there is a mod on DA Nexus (don't have the link handy at the moment) that says it removes unnecessary files and helps improve game performance. You might try that. I've got the same problem (although I haven't played with 1.03) and someone recommended me to try that although I've not bit the bullet as of yet.

holy shit thats a massive increase of codex entires.. some of it looks bugged out tho? 400+ creatures in the expansion really? or is that just for future expansion/mods?

also is it worth doing return to ostagar before playing awakenings? its the only thing ive got left to do from origins.

That has to be a bug. My codex had ~10-15 new entries per category, if that. You might as well do RtO if you bought it. It is not that long, and the items are decent, especially if you are using other DLC items that will not transfer to Awakening.

So a weird thing happened. When I logged in to my "Epilogue" Origins file(in the open field area you start in), I got the "Ultimate Sacrifice" trophey, even though I didn't get that particular ending on this file. I logged back in again and it gave me the "Perfectionist" trophey.

    Weird.

Awakening already left a great first impression when it essentially destroyed my codex and presented me with a big, stonking CLASS NAME NOT FOUND on my skill list. Also when Anders randomly disappeared in the middle of a conversation.

    Goddamn it, Bioware.

Yeah, I've got the same problem with my imported character. Since only one companion returns as playable though, I just went with a new character.

It's amazing how some people run into these issues and others don't. I wonder if it has something to do with the install process, or the disk itself?

What platforms are you guys playing on? I use the PS3 and my game has ran into no issues whatsoever, other than the wonky sound effects, but that seems to have cleared up after the first stage was over.

I'm playing it on the PS3 and the only thing I've noticed is some of my Codex entries are completely missing but there is still the blank space there left for them.

I think I'm almost done with it too, just haven't had much time to finish it, aside from that everything seems to work well.

I'm liking it so far... I just finished my 2nd play through of the original yesterday and rolled right into it... pretty nice.

I'm wondering whether I should go back and liquidate all the gear I have stored? I'm never going to see anything left on the old characters or in my Warden's Keep chest ever again, right? I'm sort of a pack rat.

You have to chose if you'll take Oghren and Anders along with you right at the start, after you complete the first scenario. The Joining is immediately after and you can't avoid it - if they are in your party, they will participate. You can dismiss the both of them, however it's not really advisable...

    Joining spoiler:

Also, has anyone found a good use for Sigrun? STR/DEX heavy, low CUN rogues make baby Jesus cry.

There's GM Lightning Runes in Origins you could have ported over. I haven't ran into any so far in Awakening, but chances are you'll sooner be able to make one through Runecrafting than find one laying around.

Its pretty bad that as an expansion, this still outclasses ME2 for on the fly dialogue between characters. I tend to get at least one line every few minutes and Ive not heard any repeats yet and I dont have to click on a veranda to get it. Its very impressive.
