Playing MvC2 is fine if it's between two people of relatively equal experience. It's just that going online with random matches means you run into the guys with 10 years worth relatively often.
Yeah I have it on PS3 but there's no point in playing online. I am devoured.
I didn't actually get into fighting games again until a few months ago with SF 4. I have always loved Fighters but in general I ended up getting better than my friends and they would all stop playing me
I've owned a cart of SF II for as long as I can remember and then moved onto the terrible EX series and bloody roar and tekken and DOA and all of those silly fighters. I would get "good" at them. Beat my friends. They would quit playing and I would have no one to play other than the CPU.
MvC2 gets me hatemail, I normally play Cap America or Jill with Trons broken assist and Sent. Punch assist landing an assist nets pretty huge damage combos that randoms seem to not enjoy.

I'm that guy.
I've only played it off and on since 2002 though, not continuously like some of the other guys on there.
Also I refuse to use Sentinel/Cable since I don't find them fun to play. I CAN play them... I just don't.
Sakura/Tron/Ken, all the way baby. People hate it when I rape their Sentinel with Sakura's infinite or stop their rocket punches/flightrush with her taunt. Magneto and Storm don't like it when I trap them inside Tron's high damage assist, and watching Ken eat through Strider/Doom is just too much fun.
I still get my ass handed to me by the REAL committed players, but I love the game too much to ever stop playing for very long.
I miss street fighting, but i should have my xbox back by SSF4. I really havent been following all the hype or whatever so when this does come out ill be all like: Whaaaaaaaat!
Pretty stoked guys. Gen r.i.p. though.

I'm still pretty hyped. Probably will get more hype after the 1up stream.
KoF13 is taking over though.
I don't know. With KOF I want to say to them: "why are you even showing me these new characters when you haven't told me what the new code will be like?"
I love me some puzzle fighter. (Super Gem Fighters too)
Nah, this dude doesn't even like puzzle games, but he got really into it.
So awesome though. Should have gotten into it sooner.
I remember ordering Puzzle Fighter for the PC from some English store way back in the 90s. Why I had to get it there, I forget, but it wasn't in Software Etc. or anything. The game included Sakura's Alpha 2 voice actress singing a vocal version of her theme song. Is that in the PS3 version too?
puzzle fighter is the bees knees! i used to play super puzzle fighter 2 turbo advanced (for gaemboi) all the time! Didnt understand how the different fighters worked though...
This is the first time I've seen this and it blew my mind.
I am pretty impressed that most of the console characters have horrendously lengthy idle animations considering that it's a fighting game and it's pretty rare for one character to be standing still for that long. I guess it's good if you're in training mode.

PSN: ohvermie <- ADD ME FOR STREET FIGHTING ACTION!
If you drop 1-6 gems on the opponent, 1-6 gems from your character's pattern's bottom row is sent to the opponent's field. Which columns have gems dropped is random, but the colors will always drop into their assigned column. If you drop 7-12, the bottom row plus 1-6 gems from the second-from-bottom are sent. The pattern repeats for the third and fourth rows, and if you send over 24, it starts over from the bottom row again.
So, looking at Ken's drop pattern, if he only attacks with 1-6 gems at a time, he'll always drop red gems. He needs to attack with at least 7 at a time to drop greens, 13 at a time to drop blues, and 19 at a time to drop any yellow gems. Donovan will only drop alternating red and yellow columns at 12 gems and below, but above that he'll mix in green and blue. And no matter how many gems Dan attacks with, they'll all be red.
You basically use knowledge of your opponent's drop pattern to build around it. You can build a stack of red gems in your second-from-left column if you're fighting Ryu, as until he drops big attacks on you, he'll fill up the leftmost column with red and you'll have a 2-width big gem building up there. Against Chun-Li, stack red gems in the third-from-left column to work on a 3-width big gem, and so on.

Except for one weird rainbow edition one.
I was a KoF kid and proud of it.
Alpha 3 was my first SF.
Eh, didn't like the look of MvC2 anyway.

but then. there was SFIV.
and i am addicted.
I've played about every 2D fighter under the sun (that matters).
Only one I don't play is Melty Blood (that I can think of).

Melty blood is pretty fun.
You should try it.
Haven't tried actress again yet though. Not japanese PS2.
Maybe I can find a copy somewhere.
The newest version is Actress again. I don't think it's been released on anywhere other than Japanese PS2 so far.
Edit: damnit hippy
In SSFIV news, I'm losing hype for some reason.
Capcom needs to make more hype!
KoF13 is taking over though.
But these past few weeks have been pretty much non-stop hype. I was getting used to it.
Pretty stoked guys. Gen r.i.p. though.

Some fucker at Capcom said not to worry, I'm digging up that article then I'm digging that man a grave.
That's ok, Bison's standing HK does as much damage as all the TU's hahaha....love it.
The best.

Also, does t.hawk cry when you litter?
I think my brain got shut down by the amount of colours.
How are you supposed to read that?

Cool how they use this to differentiate fighters.

Did I tell you that fuerte's new ultra is insane? Because it is.
Leg throw damage buff is awesome. Looks like cl.hk xx guac will be a lot more rewarding.
