I've been watching some of my old Bond films, and it got me to thinking.
They made From Russia With Love into a game fairly recently.
Assuming it would be done well, what old (pre-Goldeneye) film would you like to see in video game form.
I'd for one love to see The Living Daylights adapted.
Even though this wasn't based on any movie, this was THE best 007 game ever made, and that's including GoldenEye. It's not very well known, either, methinks. Uses the same engine as Future Wars, I believe, another excellent point-n-click graphic adventure game from the days of yore:
Stealth Affair is great. It wasn't originally a Bond game though.
I'm fuzzy on the details. I think it came out in the UK first, and the main character was named John Glames or something. And then when it came out in the US they got the rights to warp it into a 007 game.
Be that as it may, it's one of the best and most challenging point-n-clicks ever and it works as a 007 game, too, considering the puzzles and everything presented.

Indeed.
I alway liked how you can shaft yourself if you forge the wrong kind of passport.

Yeah. It was pretty cool.

Considering that Sony owns MGM/UA, by HD DVD you mean Blu- Ray, right?
The Stealth Affair was pretty cool. There was a copy of it sitting in a software store around here that was always neglected, and now that store is long since gone.
Everything or Nothing was good, perhaps because it was an original story. From Russia with Love felt weird to me only because it used the same engine, and tried to extend the movie too much. I still enjoyed it.
Goldeneye was great, but more shooter-esque than James Bond like. The EA developed shooters that came after that on PS1 and PS2 tried to add back more "Bond-ness" but just felt like sub-par Goldeneye clones, to me.
I think that the point and click genre is well suited to Bond-style stories, maybe with a dash of FPSing thrown in. As to a classic movie I'd like to see made into a game...Man with the Golden Gun? Maybe? My favorite of the Roger Moore films.

I really liked the Game Boy 007 game. I whole-heartedly recommend it.
As for which movie, I'm not sure older Bonds lend themselves to the action games of today. I'd like to see the one that took place in New Orleans (was it Live and Let Die?) just because it was really goofy and stupid.

I would like to see a whole game devoted to "Moonraker" instead of just featuring some cameo appearances from characters or levels.

It's been made abundantly clear that Ten O'Clock is time for Rainbow Six. It is not time for other games! You might think that it is, but it isn't. Don't show up at 10:05! That's not when it is. It is earlier.
I can't think of any old bond movies that would translate well into a game, but all future Bond games should be developed by Monolith. Especially if they're adaptations of old movies.
Hm. What was that Bond game for C64 where you were in some mine or other that was rigged to explode or something and it had some really awkward jumping stuff in it?

It's not actually a bond game, but man if you ever go to a shitty diner out in the middle of nowhere, chances are you'll see a copy of this sitting beside a broken Raiden cabinet and the ever-present PGA golf arcade game.

Goldeneye was something of an exception, but a ton of its levels weren't actually from that movie.
EA's Everything or Nothing was probably the best bond game since GE, and it was completely original.
Activision should be working on original titles, not trying to shoehorn the action from 2 hours into a 15 hour game.

I've been looking for a copy of goldeneye forever. Only way to get one now seems by buying the james bond ultimate collection.
However while at boarders I decided to check their computer and they said a a widescreen version of goldeneye is stated for Feb 07.
Hellz yeah.

I'm waiting for an HD DVD set now.
