So far, no problems without running a Syngerist.

Looking forward to getting the Hermes Sandals and the ability to actually progress Lightning's weapon to the second stage.

    Edit:

Also, I may be the only one, but I didn't hate not having control over who was in my party in previous chapters. I actually enjoyed it because it fleshed out those characters, as well as let me use characters I don't plan on playing with.

Why would you want Hermes Sandals ? Your hp needs to be in the red zone for haste to activate, Sprint Shoes just give you Auto Haste from the beginning of the fight (It wears out like a normal buff would too though)
You can upgrade them to Sprint Shoes, though.

Yeah, but I found one pair of Hermes Sandals long after I found 2-3 Tetradic Tiara's which can be disassembled (when maxed, and its only one level) to Sprint Shoes + 4 other items.

...right. The Sprint Shoes do. And you're saying to disassemble a Tetradic Tiara to get the Sprint Shoes, and I'm saying why do that when there's another way, and you can have both.

The Tiara wears off way to quickly in my experience to be useful and it's way easier to get the low hp version of the Tiara then Hermes Sandals.

Pretty much my point, the boss from mission 7 drops both the Tiara and the Crown and its repeatable, its way easier to obtain than Hermes Sandals (a largely inferior item)

As for the Ethersols, I've heard that you can dismantle the weakest kind of HP bangles for a fixed % to obtain Ethersols, I havent tried it yet though.

Because Hermes sandals are gotten from a fairly high level mission (34) versus the crowns and tiaras, which drop from mission 7.

Edit: Sprint shoes and hermes sandals are seriously your best bet for filling out the boost synth group once you have on the aurora scarf and nimbletoe boots. Maybe nimbletoe boots if evasion stacks with itself.

Auto-Haste lasts significantly longer than the Tiara buffs do, it seems like at least double, but I don't have a stop watch going to actually verify that. This is in addition that the buffs given by the Tiara are pretty much completely useless in random fights.

I was doing some of the missions in Chapter 11, and one popup said something about using the stones to teleport to other stones. I've never been able to get this to work, though. I guess I didn't pay attention to the message.

I just finished mission 7 and I want to go to 8, which is a long, LONG walk back. If I could just teleport to a different stone, though, this would be a lot faster.

The more I play this game, the more addicted I am to it. Great battle system, great cast , great graphics.

I just made it to chapter 9. The last parts of ch.8 are, IMO, the most intense scenes i've seen in a FF game.

This game is just so good. The only change I dont agree with is the extreme linearity, but asides from that it's all perfect. Best. FF. ever. I've played every mainline FF game (asides from XI) and this is easilly my favourite.

Now I wonder what group I'll pick when I get the option. I'm leaning toward Lightning / Hope / Snow, but we'll see.

Yes, he has the lowest HP in the game. It is still more than enough to survive at least one of even the most powerful attacks.

Alright; I need a new strategy to make money.

I'm not going to dick with these big guys in the hope I can get Death to work and then really hope that something useful drops.

Is there a good spot anywhere else, post-game, to farm enemies that consistently drop items that sell?

Shit, at this point I'd take something that sold for relatively little vs. spending half hour hoping I can down one of these fuckers.

    Chocobo Treasure Hunt mini-game?

And for the Adamantortises, what about the Vanille Death trick?

That's uh...what I just said I'm not bothering with. It's too random. I've spent well over half hour trying to down one with that trick. My characters are almost maxed.

With Shell they take ~7.7k a stomp and Hope can't take two even with almost capped health.

what I ended up doing was altering the strat to sab/sab/syn with Vanille, fang and hope. I didn't even bother with sentinel. But the important thing I did was to make Vanille a malboro wand, which has debilitation II on it. You might want to keep a weapon around to make fang's debuffs better as well. I opened up with the summon to disable it. Fang debuffs the fuck out of it while Hope buffs the fuck out of everyone else. Haste is the first thing he casts anyway so having an autohaste item isn't really crucial. Before long you find out the regular damage of death is doing somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60k non break and for some reason doing it that way gave me a 50/50 shot per attempt. Considering what you get for the time invested I considered it worth my time

you can get a malboro wand by upgrading a belladonna wand (can be bought for 30k-ish gil from one of the stores at that point) to max level then transmuting it.

Worth $60 if you can bear the first 9 chapters of the game. After that it repays your patience many times over, especially once you reach chapter 12.

I do have to admit that I find it funny that you keep misreferencing Hope's scene in Chapter 7 as Chapter 8, since that was the closest thing to an emo scene. What with the attempted suicide and all.
