EDIT: The sword guy that one shots you wasn't quite a push over. Now, Bandersnatch and Jabberwocky on the other hand...
B&J are pushovers? I must be missing a trick?
Debuffing one of them can cause them to get in an endless loop where they won't be able to attack you trying to buff (or something, not sure what the power actually does). Makes them pretty trivial.
Why would you put anyone on "permanent" sentinel duty? Very few fights in this game require that, if any.
She starts out as a sab, and when I stagger someone I switch her to com. But having her on sentinel most of the time means I don't have to worry about healing as much, as I only have one not-very-good medic. And she counterattacks a lot.
I also don't know how you'd win certain fights without spending most of it with at least one sentinel, for example the boss of chapter 11.
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but are there any good guides on where the hell I find the marks that I have to hunt for the little c'ieth stone missions?

God damn Fang, way to over achieve in the final battle doing 99,999 damage right off the bat the instant he was staggered and just devastating the final boss. You'd think she'd want Lightning to have at least a little piece of the action but nooooo.

I used the axis blade for much of the game myself and the debuff staff for Fang seeing as she was mostly doing the sab role in the party so it was nice to have debuffs that stuck to things.
Now that I have finished the game I feel the need to shelve it for a while before doing anything else.
Alright which weapons are best for each character?
I've finally come to the conclusion that Lionheart is the best weapon for Lightning, curious on the others.
Like you, I went with Lionheart for Lightning.
I decided on the Stagger Lock weapon for Fang, mainly because if she's doing damage it's on Commando which practically never lands the stagger hit anyway.
Vanille got the Debuff weapon (Belladonna/Malboro) because the stats are pretty good and if you're planning on farming turtles it's basically required.
I did the augment maintenance one for Sazh; in most of my fights he ends up on Syn far more then an offensive role since he magic stat tends to get outpaced by other people.
For Hope I chose the weapon that gives Syphon Boost but really his choices are pretty open; if you don't want that one I'd give him the Augment Boost one or whichever emphasizes magic.
And I dunno which one to choose for Snow, since he never sees any use.
I'm interviewing Ali Hillis, voice of Lightning (and Liara in Mass Effect) - any questions?
Was she aware about any of the FF games before playing the role, and if so, was she asked to mimic one of the existing characters?
That's about it.
Edit:
"For this year E3 I've got just one hint. Do you remember the E3 where Sony anounced they have GTA: San Andreas as a time-exclusive deal? Expect huge bombs at this E3. I used GTA as an EXAMPLE - it does not mean Sony will anounce anything from R* !! I just meant what they announce will be as huge as the gta deal - you get it right ?"
While we have no idea of what the actual game is, all we can speculate is possibly Final Fantasy 14 (It was announced as a PS3 exclusive last E3, but Square did say they were considering other consoles.), or possibly Grand Theft Auto 5. Maybe even Metal Gear Solid Rising. What do you think it could be?"
I'm not going to add fuel to the fire and say-oh to hell with it, yes I am.
Only news I've heard about FFXIII VS is that the same theme "fighting against fate and the will of gods/beings controlling destiny" is supposed to be re-occurring, and that the game will also feature an oveworld map and airships. Old skool what?

Last I heard is that they discarded the overworld map approach and it's something more akin to (wait for it) FFX.

I totally believe a rumour from a no name site founded only two months ago!!! smh.

I'm curious what the differences between working with Bioware and SE were, as she gave a much better performance as Lightning than she did as Liara.
I will ask this, but I think in part it's down to what she's good at. "Hardened" Liara in ME2 sounds an awful lot like Lightning, and the VA is better as a result.

But I want an overworld FFX was disappointing when you got the airship, now you can fly arou- I mean pick places you already visited, to go back to.

I wouldn't be turned away from the game if that was the case, honestly. I liked FFX.
But it seems Tetsuya Nomura dropped a hint a few days ago about it on the Square Enix Members Twitter account.
"Not everything is connected together, so the various areas have different levels of progress. However, you can fly across the world map in an airship."
It strikes me as really silly that the -ra buffs aren't gotten by the primary synergists. Fun fact! According to the guide, the -ra buffs all have a much higher benefit than the single target ones (50% damage reduction from protectra over the 33% of protect, and that was the smallest differential) but they also apparently last drastically longer. No time was given in the guide but the single targets were rated 4 stars on duration, and the -ra's were 1 star.
Actually I think the duration on those is actually drastically shorter - the duration bar shows more marks for longer lasting spells. Still - kind of stupid that the primary buffers don't get them.
Edit -
Bravera, Faithra, protectra, shellra - I know fang gets Bravera (and I think faithra) and one other person does as well, not sure about the other ones though.
ooh so those are the single cast on all party member spells right?
The descriptions in game don't describe them as group buffs.

I don't think I ever used a Sentinel for Chapter 11's boss. That bastard took too long without one, I can't imagine what it would be like with one.

How did you deal with the constant lazzzor barrage?
Also, re: the opening to Chapter 12
It occurs to me that this scene can be explained by some producer at Square going, "Hey guys let's make a cutscene that combines the two awesomest movies ever, Transformers 2 and Speed Racer.
What do you mean that makes no sense just fit it in! IT WILL FIT SOMEHOW

I took the entire thing as an homage to FF7.
You break back into the major city, kick some ass, and then fight Proudclad. Tell me that doesn't feel familiar
There's only ONE dungeon where the mechanic was used correctly. And that was Kefka's tower. It was sad that the only other game I recall you did it (FF8) it was completely unnecessary in a regular run.

Though apparently sentinel doesn't work so well against the giant turtle dinosaur in chapter 12.

You sir work on the assumption that the makers of these video games know what they are doing.
I could see the FF13 VS being released on both systems. Actually, when is that game supposed to come out, that game looks awesome.

And my googling suggests that they aren't.
No no no: FF7 remake as a timed exclusive on the DSi. (It'll eventually come to iPhone as well.)
But only in Japan.

Cause FF9 is seriously awesome?
Because it's the polar opposite of 13?

End of Disc 2. Best FF7 cutscene ever.
Oh and FF9 really is the opposite of FF13! Whereas FF13's battles are speedy FF9's battles are REALLY slow.
I will buy FFIX the moment it becomes available on the NA PSN.
