If you guys are keeping that list then anyone that gets invited should also be removed, just so no one gets invited twice accidentally.
I have asked in the post that people keep me updated, so theoretically if people do that I should be able to keep it up to date.
Now we just need to get people to PM instead of post so the thread can get back on track. Oh well, I'm sure everyone saw this coming as soon as friend invites were confirmed. I assume the first wave of invites will mostly go out to people who have been actively contributing to the thread - I'm hoping to see Dangerisk (well, really hoping to see Dangerisk get one just so I can hear more of his opinion on it) and Dover get one, for example.
But if the beta lasts long enough and enough friend codes go out, this should be a pretty good tool.
I needed anime to post. on

Are there that many US SC2 beta keys floating around?
Looking at the length of the "want beta invites" list is worse than the waiting list for a new heart.
This is worse than a complete media blackout imo.
I'm probably not gonna make it out of this beta period alive, at this rate...

New interesting (for stats whores) TL.net post!
Note: It is also important to note that the sample consists of the first 8 divisions in Asia, the first 13 in Europe, and the first 16 in the US, despite some of these having more divisions. I don't consider the other divisions mature enough to matter yet, as a lot of them have people in the top 8 who still have ratings of 1000.
Surprisingly, everything seems rather even across the board, with the exception that terran really is underplayed.
Also, Asia seems to have more than twice as many Protoss than Zerg, yet their Zerg has the highest win percentage of any other division or race.
I have a couple of personal friends who I play WC3 with, if neither of them want it, I would be quite willing to give it to someone in this here thread who would.

My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)
Yeah, I am confused as to how all the races can be winning over half their games?
Also, it would be more interesting to see each races win percent in each match up. IE, T win % versus Z.

It's the top 8 from each selected division in the Platinum league of each region, gauging the overall quality of the races per region. As such, at high level play this is what the situation between race choice and race results looks like.

Oh I see. Yeah, I can't really say that's a good gauge of things unfortunately, what with the way the matching system currently is. The top 8 people probably get matched with people decently below their skill level with some frequency.
Mutalisks can go and burn in hell. I always forget the fuckers exist while ripping the roaches apart until a swarm of them starts to fly in circles around my base. What's the best way to deal with them as a terran? Bunch of turrets around every corner?

I mainly play toss, but yeah static defense seems to be good to have to prevent mineral harassment.
If you are going MMM you also have pretty easy access to Vikings.

From what I've noticed in the few "high-level" replays, it seems like protoss are the most micro intensive, and zerg are pretty "newb" friendly (kinda like in the origianl SC). It seems like when the protoss can micro, they can really smash the zerg, though..
Also, obv using that to try and bait a USWest beta thread/find a good active WC3 clan.. PM if interested in either.
Zerg are new player friendly in SC1? Hm, I always felt the opposite. The larvae mechanic is far more difficult in my eyes than what the other races have. Of course in SC2 the queen helps with this.

The greater then 12 unit selection also really helps you get a handle on the Zerg.
I think their are no newb unfriendly races, (well really in starcraft 1 and 2 all of them are in a way) but there are units that any race can build that require micro.
Like I play Toss, but I rarely build templars because I am terrible with Psi Storm.
When I say that, I'm just speaking from watching the replays, and apm, etc. While yes, there are units that can be built that require more, from what I've seen protoss and good warp gate management are real key.. Although the zerg mining trick is REALLY sick.. I'll find the youtube video of that.

Protoss and Terran are definitely more noob friendly than Zerg. If a terran or a protoss forgets their chrono boost/mule every once in a while they won't be set too far back, but if you forget inject larvae your production will go down by over 50% since the queen is essentially another hatch. And that mining trick isn't really efficient at all. If it's the one with nydus worm you're better off just getting another hatch down compared to the cost vs. efficiency of the worm. Also, warp gate management isn't exactly complicated, select all your warpgates, vision to a place where you have pylon power, then plop a bunch down.

There's even a hotkey to select all the warpgates, just press W any time and poof all your warpgates are selected.

I goto add the key, and it says "Key invalid"...
How many digits are in the key? If 27, I hear you need to shave off the last digit?

...Ah, who am I kidding?
In my 3DS: Super Smash Bros, AC New Leaf
Last game completed: Steamworld Dig
XBL: Aspis 9
Lotro (Landroval): Cleomenes [Champion], Ilithano [Captain]
Back in middle school I basically memorized the SC1 manual I loved that game so much.
No problems dude, my main computer is a netbook right now anyways T_T
Thanks though!
Wait.. how does this work I just got excited and posted really quickly.
A ha!
Well there are, but I don't think more than a few people have gotten any.
What are the specs on that netbook? This game seems pretty scalable.
This is worse than a complete media blackout imo.

I was successfully able to add the game to my battle.net account
I am terrible at this game and all RTS games.
Let's see how many games I'll play before I quit in disgust (my bet: less than 3)
