Holy crap guys, anyone watching LzGamer's stream? He vsed "hdstarcraft" (prob fake) in the desert map. TvT and they mirrored each other with a bunker in each others base.
Awesome game that didn't go as long as I thought it would once they destroyed each other's mains!
so does nobody use reapers? in replays, it's all marines, marauders, and medivacs
Reapers are pretty fragile and take a lot of micro. Players were using them a lot at one point but then they got some nerfs and now you don't see them at all. I think we might see them more when people's conception of them shifts from viewing them purely as an opening harass unit.
As for bunkers, about the only thing I've found them useful for is the +1 range they give troops inside, which can help in certain wall off scenarios against other terrans.
Pfft, no one uses reapers eh? How about how I took out your nexus before you could do anything? (And then had them all eaten by zealots)
Actually, come to think of it, the banshees were altogether just better for that. Though they're a lot more expensive and slow to make.

Reapers are a very good harassment unit late game. Especially once you have 5+ barracks it's not big deal to make two or three reapers. Then whenever you engage the enemy outside of their base, sneak the reapers into their mineral lines and kill of workers while they're busy microing the battle. This kind of stuff does require a pretty high apm to be effective though, so keep that in mind.
You need an identifier after your given screename so that more than one person can have that name. For example, you could make a Lemming.east if you wanted to.

Most of the time it uses your first name before the dot. If you play a game with someone with that name it uses the name after the dot. Not sure why it lets you use the same name for the identifier. Guess it shows both when there's a copy.

One thing i never really liked about Starcraft, and Blizz games in general is the community. Fought a good game just now, they win. I stayed until all my combat units were dead, quipping: "For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee!". In response i got a lot of I ___ your mom last night.... what? People don't read books anymore...... Hell, people don't watch Star Trek movies anymore???
i also love, and hate 2v2 matches with pugs. Who wants to do battle?
So, as toss, what the hell am I supposed to do about ling rush? There is literally nothing I can produce fast enough. I was milliseconds on my timing with minerals and they still got waves of lings at me before I got one zealot.

If they do a 6pool i think yer basically screwed, you gotta chrono your 1st zealot and do some crazy probe dancing. While you are taking an economic hit, so are they to get there that fast anyway. I even if you beat off the attack, the Zerg player is still at an advantage, your economy is slowed, they should continue pressure, and have roaches before you can get fast immortals. So basically your sucking wind, do your best with soft counter units and try to out tech him.
That's the bad part of this, even if you manage to beat back the attack, you're contained. I've been playing more terran lately, just because their early game is more fun. Even scouting a 6pool is not helpful. But a terran can get that wall up, repair it with SCVs and plink away with one or 2 marines.

If you scout a six pool don't get gas, build another gate, and chrono your first zealot. You should also be building your first gate near your ramp pvz, so that you can throw another building down next to it and make a tight choke that can be blocked off by 1/2 zealots. It should work a lot better now that they fixed the bug where you could just spam click behind the wall off to break lings through your wall.

All you can really do is make sure your entrance is walled off and have zealots blocking the way. I've found Zerg give me the most trouble though, it's really hard to come back even if you beat off that first rush. You really need to come out with something they haven't prepared for at that point (Void Rays, Immortals/Colossus).
Jesus. First placement match. DEMOLISHED. Haha! There's just so much going on it's difficult to keep track of 3 or 4 bases at once. Cycling through them, keeping shit building from every new larva, keeping up on the overlords, keep injecting new larva running from base to base, managing your army. GAH! Not enough gas! He's turtling? Oh look, like 20 of those stealth rocket things. gg.
My SC2 is messed up or something. It's not letting me join or create games.
What error are you getting? I'm getting a download error every time I launch a map, including one's I had played before this most recent patch. There seem to be a handful of threads on the support forums suggesting this reset borked things for some people.

to clarify: as protoss, build your initial pylon and gateway right by your exit so they block most of it off and only leave a small, photon-cannon sized gap; then put your zealots into this gap.
Zerglings coming in will be fored to come in only 1 or 2 at a time thus depriving them of their numbers advantage, and later on you can build sentries to drop force fields into that gap.
also if you only build one single photon cannon in a game this is a good spot to place it.
Also did my 5 new placement matches, won them all and got put in platinum. Im so going to get demolished by plat dudes.
Based on what other people have said in this thread the placement seems pretty basic. 1 grade per number of wins: 5 wins= Plat, 4 wins= gold, 3 wins= silver, ect. Doesn't seem like a very good way to judge your skills ; an average player could end up fighting 5 crappy players and end up in the platinum leagues even though he's nowhere near that skill level.

That's basically what happened to me. I feel more like a high silver/low gold player. Definitely not plat.

Yeah, I believe Stig and I played them. They never posted that video.
i forgot my colleges team was playing tonight. started watching just in time for them to choke like they always do booya.
also stalkers are op; banelings are bad
the banelings that is, stalkers are op.

They might be trying to restrict replays they post to known players.
did you even use them against me.
oh no my wall would have been busted .1 seconds later by the 80000 zerglings good thing u had banelings there bro
So, I'm a total noob right? My videos even prove it.
But I just did my placement games and now I'm in the gold league. I went 4-1.

Didn't there used to be 10 placement games? 5 seems kinda low for trying to gauge someones skill.
