Raiding on tuesdays is a major blunder by any guild because shit like this always happens.

Although, you guys are spoiled as hell if your MMO career started with WoW. Anyone who played EverQuest remembers patch tuesdays lasting for a week and often resulting in a rollback of your character days or weeks.

Patch days in UO were always looked toward with dread, for a variety of reasons.

Edit: Some servers are coming up now.

Even early WoW patches were a lot worse for stability than they are now.

Although, strangely, I don't remember patches being a problem in TBC. It seems like it got worse with WotLK.

I've been seeing fixes in the alpha changelogs for PitBull since the patch hit the PTR, so a good chance that works.

Hmm. Perhaps it's not an abomination. Although, I usually just click the unit frame and hit my dispel button. Which is mouse5 right now. I manually bind stuff. After using nurfed for a decent amount of time in vanilla, and having the fucking thing break every patch and not get updated for months, I decided to set my UI up so that if all my addons explode one day, I wouldn't be in a "the way I play the game is busted right now" situation.

Just seen this on another site, and thought this just might be the best description of avoidances ever.
A dodge, like parry, is something YOU do (passivly, but again it is your avatar doing this).

    Example:

I swing a baseball bat at your head, and you duck effectively dodging the attack. (This is dodge).

I swing again, but this time you knock the baseball bat away with an umbrella you picked up. (This is a parry).

In a rage - I swing again, but this time because of my rage I completely miss even though you didnt even have time to move or do anything else to avoid the attack. (This is miss - or chance to be hit).

Furious I take a swing again, this time it lands directly on your temple knocking you out. In a triumphant roar I swing again and again, sometimes I miss (again miss has nothing to do with you - its all on the attacker), sometimes I don't. However because you are incapacitated you cannot dodge or parry my attacks, but I can still miss. I continue going until there is nothing left but a pulp. I loot your corpse and take your epics.

Forgive the graphic example, but this is what Dodge/Miss/Parry is about.

Increasing a targets chance to miss you is essentially increasing their hit cap (whether it be a player or a mob). Hope that answered your question without freaking you out.

I did a quick search and came across this:
Disable the x-perl submodule X-Perl Party. You can do the same with the raid frames by disabling X-Perl RaidFrames. You can disable these either from the 'All' tab on the x-perl options frame, or by manually disabling them from the addon list at character selection.

Edit: hmm, I think Grid is supposed to suppress the party frames, or at least has an option for it. I'm far less experienced with Grid, so I can't tell you for sure. It's likely an option within Grid, though.

Not sure if this will work but something to try if you have it in front of you right now.
