"I Hit It With My Axe", D & D + Porn Stars. No This Is Not A Typo.

In what is possibly the weirdest idea of all time ever, and yet kind of awesome, The Escapist is debuting a new show titled "I Hit It With My Axe", which has porn stars...playing Dungeons and Dragons.
I...don't know what to say about this. I'll just repeat it. Dungeons and Dragons. With Porn Stars.
Anyways, Here's the first episode. It includes Sasha Grey as a guest star. Yes. That Sasha Grey.
If I knew or cared about any of these "stars", I might've had something constructive to say.
I know the Escapist tries pretty hard to appeal to gamers but outside of Zero Punctuation, I don't think I've cared much for any of their other attempts at regular series'. Kind of falls flat, in my opinion.
Met the guy producing it at a party last week. V. Cool, also everyone seemed mostly into it, he had to edit 8 hr sessions to produce each session.
1 hour D&D, 7 hour crazy drunk drug porn star sex party?

My sneaking suspicion is that when off the job all porn stars are celibate monocle-wearing chaps and chapesses who sip champagne while discussing Wittgenstein

Yeah,I also think most of them are pretty classy outside of their jobs.
Except for maybe 1 or 2 where I really can't imagine them ever being in a situation without some kind of object in any of their body openings.

"How often did you get to be a wizard? How often did you get to cast spells?"
"Well actually all my roles sucked so not at all. I just sat here. Sucking. But I bet you guys are used to that."
Hahahah
So I just finished watching, this was highly enjoyable
It's pretty funny that the group had the same problems any D and D group I've been in has...arguing with each other and agreeing to do the same thing but never actually doing it
Also, the "list of what the group did last time" bit was fucking priceless
Right, that was my point. This is the sort of shit that gives people who play video games, or "gamers", a bad name. This is almost as bad as the gaming razor or game cheez snax.

Why didn't they get Stoya, she actually plays games and stuff (at least according to her various bio's online, which are definitely the absolute truth).

It's a group of people from a profession you wouldn't expect to play D&D playing it, I can see why people would find that interesting.
I haven't seen it, but if they take it seriously, then I'm probably okay with it (like Vin Diesel or something).
It's when they shoehorn half naked ladies into "geeky" activities for no reason other than fan service. I saw the behind the scenes video for the G4 Kratos/Thicke music video, and those porn stars had no idea what the fuck they were doing or what a Kratos was. "Um, I think we're Greek goddesses or something?"
edit: Or the Frag Dolls, who do take gaming seriously, but let their gender do most/too much of the talking.

This sort of shit is why I don't refer to myself as a gamer. I like playing games, that is all.
This reminds me of all the slobbering over Olivia Munn by people who watch G4. Pretty much the only people who watch the channel anymore watch it only to see her. Which is sad. Common guys, stop making the rest of us look so bad.
The sad thing is I was commenting on the rules as they went. "So, wait, one of them just asks about playing a Tiefling? Well, they're probably playing fourth edition, then. But wait, that's a 3rd ed book! So where did she get the idea to play a Tiefling from? That's in the monster manual and has a level adjustment. And they're not half-demons! That's a different template entirely."
Okay, it didn't help that I didn't know who any of these women are.

You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.

I think it would be much more entertaining to watch the video dubbed over with commentary like this.
Watching this when I get home, because I love watching/listening to people playing DnD. Mostly because I live in Japan and can't find a DnD game
And I'm actually not that surprised if some of them are regular players. Quite a few geeks end up in physical professions where DnD is a good outlet (like Vin Diesil's bouncer ring, firefighters, soldiers, construction workers).
It feels like it should be a longer series, more like the PA D&D sessions. Here it's everyone shouting over each other with quick cuts of the players discussing their lives. They could be doing any activity and it would be equally incoherent using this method.

The thing I thought was funny was that the first thing they did was set a pub on fire. I think that's the default start to first time player. Enter pub, get in to fight, set pub on fire and then the campaign begins.
Also, I wonder if their back ground is 'orphan', D&D Orphanages are hero factories.
I didn't think it was too bad. I would have liked it if it was a bit longer and if the cameraman would just calm the fuck down and stop swinging it around and shit. I found it amusing to see people who as their normal jobs take dicks in one or more orifice just sit around and do normal stuff. Usually when watching pornstars you don't think about what they're really like or what their hobbies are.
I don't really care about porn stars playind D&D... in fact I don't care who they are, but they need to at least be moderately funny or interesting people.
I listened to the entire series where Gabe, Tycho, Will Wheaton and that other guy played D&D 4th, because those guys are funny, they keep it interesting, and you actually get to follow them playing the game.
This shit was just trying to get porn stars to use nerdy terms, which I guess is funny if you're in 8th grade.

EVERY orphanage is a hero factory. It's the default origin for heroes. A short list of orphan or de-facto orphan (they're alive, but they're gone for some reason,) heroes include Superman, Batman, Spiderman, most of the X-Men, Goku, Luke Skywalker, Frodo, Harry Potter, most Links, Samus, Lara Croft (though that took a while,) Cloud and most jRPG heroes when they bother giving them families, and Lonny knows how many mythological heroes. Hell, good luck NOT finding heroes with a good family life.

I know what you mean. She's all hot and cute and teasing and she goes aboslutely crazy and screams and spits at you and all that jazz.
I kinda wonder if she does that in this video?

Attractive women and DnD? Jim Darkmagic and Omin Dran I'm sure would be all for some acquisition! :winky:
I feel dirty having watched this and then realizing I know who two of them are by name.

This is correct. These guys have been running a blog for months (I don't read it, but it's been linked on another forum I hang around)
so thats like 36 months of DnD experience? :winky:
