I've got some concerns about tier 1 scaling at the moment. Hormagaunts, Sluggas and Shootas, in particular, all feel as though they scale poorly past tier 2, and rather than becoming a fighting force (as Tacs/CSM/Guardians/'shees do) or having some other utility (Scouts/Cultists/Termagants), tend to end up either relegated to capping duty, or eating your requisition for reinforcements hard.
And Stikkbommas. Does anyone use these at all?
Also, I think they should have a look at the Tzeentch worship stealth. It's far, far more exploitable than anything else for a Tier 1 low-cost unit.
I would be curious if there are any specific units or upgrades that they feel are being underutilized.
Especially with Global abilities.
This is something I've wondered about myself. As just touched upon, the stikkbommas especially just seem like a... "why" unit. I'm not sold on the weirdboy in 1 on 1 either. The majority of Ork globals are just so bleugh, too.
Tzeentch worship stealth I agree on. Maybe adjust the times it takes to restealth or something. Sluggas are really just cannon fodder, as they're meant to be. This wouldn't be so disappointing if the backline units (weird boys, shootas, to an extent bommas) weren't so underwhelming as well. 1 on 1 context.
So i got CR all installed and going, just messing around in the single player and vs computer opponents till i get my bearing, i haven't played in quite a while.
The TS system got wiped on CR's release, so if you start doing multiplayer, its equally likely that you'll get semi-new people as that you'll get cheesed to death by 20+ TS people.
Any tips, I am getting my ass kicked by the final boss fight. He one shots my melee commander and the rest of my squad is almost useless (stupid auto skill points and lost save files) and all sorts of wankery. I have beat him a couple times when he glitched out but I got a black screen.
Well, i've tried to register the game for the extra campaign gear to no avai, i've put in both codes, both at once, or both each singular (The code in Steam for GFWL and the code on my booklet.) the THQ site doesn't recognize either of them, despite them being 100% legit and i am playing online with them. Oh well.
I was just thinking last night how cool it would be to add Nurgle upgrades to Havocs and CSM.
For the Havocs, it could turn them into an equivalent of Plasma Devs.
For the CSM, I was thinking it could be giving them the Bile Spewer, then giving the actual Plague Champion a decent ranged weapon of the Consecrated Bolter variety.

Well... if the upgrades were as useless as the nurgle tank upgrade no thanks.
Personally all I want is a plague champ ranged weapon and an upgrade of some kind for the plague marines.

Subjugate should go die in a fire. Forever. 40 energy cost, 40 second cooldown with a 15 second duration? Really? REALLY? As already stated, it even works on retreating units! And then they can FIRE ON THE GROUND TO KILL THEM WITH WRAITHGUARD ARGHABLABGH.

Don't enter the codes at all.
When you go to do this, it will prompt you to enter the codes, right?
Somewhere at the bottom there is a discrete little "skip" button. You can hit that and still get your wargear code. The website will simply take your word for it.

Ohhh ok thats cool. Cuz yeah none of the codes no matter how much i tried were working.
Just wanted to copy this over from the last thread so it don't get eated.
There's a super awesome upcoming GameReplays interview with a super beloved Relic representative. It'll be voiced, but if anyone has a question that they'd like to see put in, I'd encourage you to post it or PM it to me.

Man the Bile Spewer is basically the Plague Champion's best piece of wargear. It puts the melee upgrades to shame.

No way in hell. The sword against 'nids, eldar, and orks is by far the best. You send the plague marine in against units with medium to low hp and their in for one hell of a surprise... in the form of zombies. Nothing better then to suddenly have several orks at your back.

Nothing like beating your enemy with the power of ROCK!
Hell yeah. Slaanesh is the best of the four, and I don't get why they didn't just add Slaaneshi stuff. They added stuff for Khorne, Nurgle, and Tzeentch, why no Slaanesh? People often say it's because Slaanesh is the god of passion and feeling and shit, but really how is the god of Sensation and Perfection any less deserving of the Mature rating compared to the god of killing everyone and cutting off their head, the god of corruption decay and horrifiying diseases, and the god of magic, hope, and disturbing mutations.

Well, Khorne followers, Nurgle followers, and Tzee followers aren't known to have sex with the people they kill... and I mean the corpses.
Slaanesh is very very sexual in nature (albiet I think they could still do her justice w/o the sex) and as we know, for some reason cutting people's heads off and eating their eyes is fine and socially acceptable in video games... but boobies aren't.

This is true, but it doesn't seem that hard to have an accurate portrayal of Slaanesh in a game that's all about the fighting without including the sex. I mean, if we're playing "Inquisitor: The Computer Game" or "Dark Heresy Online" or some shit I'd expect them to add some details about that kind of thing when dealing with Slaanesh, but in a war game all we need to know is Slaanesh worshipers like to eat souls and experience life to the fullest while turning your body into mush with sonic weaponry. And, to be fair, Slaaneshi marines don't really do the whole sex thing at all. They like sensations and pain and everything, but it's not really stated if a marine even COULD have sex, and that even if they were technically able the idea would ever cross their minds. The cultists would be different obviously.

Ah yeah thats true, don't marines basically never leave their armour once they are inside it? I mean they live what like forever while inside that armour until physically killed by something, and even that is very difficult to do permanently to a marine. Lore wise doesnt their armour even regenerate and self repair over long periods of time? With the exception of initiates and cultists i think Asmodeus is right in that the actual marines probably can't even do those things physically since it would require them to leave their armour.
Having a Slaanesh upgrade for the marines to make them noise marines would be totally acceptable.

Most Marines spend large amounts of their lives in their armor, since being a Space Marine is all about killing things and fighting. Space Marines can take off their armor to clean it, have it repaired, and to pay respects to their armor and weapons "machine spirits" though Chaos Marines would arguably do this less, and you can likely find Chaos Space Marines that haven't taken off their armor since they went to Chaos, though some obviously do (like in Storm of Iron). But Space Marines are super indoctrinated, and they don't even think of sex even if they could have it. The closest thing I've read on the lines of a Space Marine falling in love was basically just having a large amount of respect for a female governor because of her strong sense of duty and willingness to do what was best for her people and not necessarily for herself.

From what I have heard they are also chemically castrated - but even if they weren't, their genetic code is so different to a standard human that breeding just isn't possible.
Most marines get their initiates from promising members of the up and coming generations of normal people from their recruiting worlds. Then each chapter has initiation tests and rites and all that which they perform in order to test the candidates and those that survive go through a process in which they receive the genetic implants of that specific chapter.
Generally at least. It varies from chapter to chapter but for the most part they get initiates from talented and strong male teenagers of their worlds.

I think it's because Khorne is popular, one of the developers is a Nurgle fan (I think in one of the Xfire videos one of the developers mentioned being a massive Nurgle fan and had pushed hard to get some nurgle units), and Tzeentch was easy enough to represent by putting in a Chaos Sorcerer, an already popular unit.
Would be pretty cool for an expansion to have a Champion of Slaanesh as a commander. Particularly if they took the old guitar style sonic weapons that used to be featured on Emporer's Children Models as one of his weapons.
Then they could sweeten the deal by having him make quips about being "Doctor Feelgood" ...Ok, probably not that last part.

WRONG most chapters get their marines by clicking the "Build XXX Marine Squad" at their HQ. I just checked 5 minutes ago and that's how it works. Alternative you can use drop pods or deep strike some Terminators.

Sadly, poor Slaanesh is the least popular of the four, so it seems, (although by no means unpopular.) Combined with her sexual nature and less strait forward strengths... you just don't see her very often in media (if ever.)

Well crap, I just double checked and you are indeed correct. Its like magic!
So I've been having some trouble with my Chaos Lord vs Orks.
In T1, I need lots of Cultists upgraded with Champions to be able to counter sluggas.
In T2, I need Tzeench Marines to take on the horde of waaagh. And the previous cultists if still alive can be upgraded with Grenade Launchers.
It feels extremely power hungry, anyone have any tips?
edit: I've tried Bloodcrushers, but they just dont have the DPS or the HP to take on the waaagh. The Bloodletters have the DPS, but dont have HP. Havocs are ripped apart by Stormboyz, and the Dreadnaught autocannon doesnt do enough DPS to justify the cost, let alone upgrading it to kitable khorne (not sure how the DPS of the missiles compares to the default cannon).
in T3 I've tried some Khorne Predators, but their range feels short, and they get cracked open by 1 or 2 squads of Tankbustas really easily.
Throw 2 squads of cultists at every slugga/shoota squad.
Explode, win, chase down retreating units.
Cap everything.
Spam Bloodcrushers.
Kill his power.
Win.
And you should not be having trouble killing orks with the Chaos Lord. Wait till he gets attacked by a slugga squad or chase down a shoota squad to use his aoe when he has a lot of units around him to heal him.
The flamer tier 1 upgrade counters buildings.
The maul tier 2 counters hordes if you haven't murdered all of his squads with suicide cultists.
Bloodcrushers in tier 2 cost only a bit more than Tankbustas, and less than Killa Kans, and yet they can chase down and murder Tankbustas and beat Killa Kans one on one.
