Yeah, it's pretty bad for everyone but Holy Pallies. You only get like 16 spellpower from it via our int->sp talents. And the hit trinkets are okay if you need to get hittcapped and/or have access to a lot of gear with lots of haste and crit (and ideally no hit or spirit) to make up for it.
Question number 2: how to balance druids keep themselves from going OOM?
Wish I knew I have that problem when I offspec boomkin.
I only had mana issues when spam aoeing when I still had a boomy offspec but other than that you can go tell your healers to screw themselves and always keep innervate on yourself

Your other choice is to get your crit rating higher.
No, seriously.
Once you get to 30%+ crit unbuffed (in caster), you shouldn't really be running out of mana on boss fights. The amount of return on your crits + replenishment + passive regen (if you have intensity) should be enough to prop you up for long stretches.
5 mans it gets tougher for this, however. The amount of time you spend hurricane spamming runs you dry super quick.
Another thing I am curious about... as great as an extra 12 maximum energy with berserk sounds, how useful is that really? I mean, you aren't exactly sitting at max energy ... ever. Having 40/100 energy is the same as having 40/112. I've never played a rogue at max level, but do they have an effect like this? Does anyone know if it works like a last stand, where it would instantly give you extra energy when you use it or something else that makes it more viable?
That talent is horrible and a total waste of points right now. I would expect it to get changed a lot by retail, so just ignore it for now.
Level 60 - flight form on the trainer, you still have to pay for the riding skill ~250g
Level 68 - If you have a level 80 buy the northrend flying book for yourself. It's an heirloom
Level 70 - Epic flight form on the trainer. You still have to pay for the riding skill. 5000g reduced by rep
Minor correction, but you can't buy epic flight form from the trainer until 71. If you're 70 you *can* still do the quest chain to get it before you hit 71 if you want. Of course, you have to make sure you're at least Honored with Lower City so that you can get the key to be able to do Heroic for the last step with Anzu. You'd need some help on that part.
Bah, looks like I mistakenly told the guy you had to pay for training regular flying when you don't, and got the epic level wrong. I don't have a druid and was going off assumptions. Apologies to the guy I misinformed.
Whoops, I didn't even notice the comment about paying for regular flying... yeah, you don't have to do that. Regular flight form you just nab from the trainer and you get the training with it. Slight perk.
But yeah, if you just don't worry about epic until 71, you can buy epic flight form from the trainer once you have epic flying bought.
Ok, pardon my ignorance, but Im leveling my druid and Ive been running into the same freaking problem for a few levels now.
Im Feral and plan on tanking, so Ive been running a LFD at least once a day to get used to tanking so I can do well in Heroics. The problem is is that I think that everyone is treating them like Heroics. I go in, the mobs throw up Swipe, Demo Roar, and then Maul+Mangle. But everyone drops AoEs so quickly that I lose agro before I can establish it. Can anyone give me some tips on reliably getting and then keeping multi-mob agro?
Don't demo roar on trash packs. The GCD will have to be another swipe to keep overzealous DPS at bay, and demo roar doesn't help you on threat. Just swipe and tab maul(with glyph) and that's all you can really do as a Bear.
If they're starting too soon, ask the DPS to back off for a couple seconds to let you get a lead. Sometimes they're in heirlooms and do too much damage, and they have to work with you to let you get a little lead.
I very rarely use demo roar anymore. It just doesn't do much good. The last time I recall it making a difference was when I was first learning to solo Anzu, in T7/8.
MuddBudd on
There's no plan, there's no race to be run
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
Be sure you have 3/3 feral instinct, and glyphed maul + swipe + tab is all you should need to hold aggro. I watch my infected wounds debuff to judge which mob to maul next. If you're not in Outland/Northrend gear yet you need to be sure to get enough strength to have some attack power, since agility only adds to ap in cat form.
Hey, I can't remember if this was mentioned, but I wanted to go ahead and mention it again anyway.
Druids getting Cat Form at 10 and Bear Form at 15 is the best change in the history of forever. Cat Form, including Ferocious Bite, Claw, and Prowl, and then Bear form with Growl, Demo Roar, and Maul. It's like, perfectly set up - 15 is when you start doing Random Dungeons and you have all the tools you need.
The bright colors are just ridiculous looking. there are better ways they could have colored them and still kept the troll flair for greens and bluish hues
Is druid healing fun? Boomkin is not. I have two mains, a druid and a shaman, and the shaman is already resto. Not sure if it's worth going resto on my druid as well (especially since I spent so much on boomkin badge gear...)
It just depends on what you like to do. If you like HoTs then you might like it. If you find Boomkin boring maybe you should try out kitty DPS. There's nothing boring about that.

I mained a resto Shaman all through TBC and now have a resto Druid and I prefer Druid. The style is very different on Druid and is basically crazy or boring with little inbetween. You have lots of tools at your disposal though and I find Druid healing more rewarding than Shaman healing. Keep in mind that Shaman healing in BC consisted of ES and CH spam. To be fair though Druid end game healing mostly consists of WG and Rejuv spam. I still enjoy it though.
If I could get a free race change, I'd totally change my male tauren druid to a troll, no matter what the feral forms look like, just so I won't have to be a huge, screen-blocking fat fuck when I'm healing.
So, level 56, feral, questing. At the moment my fights go:
Pounce, Mangle, Shred, Rip, then if the mob's got a lot of HP left I Rake, otherwise Ferocious Bite. With talents and high crit chance I typically (90% or so) of the time get 5 combo points with only four attacks. When Predatory Swiftness procs I use it to cast a heal spell when needed.
Anything I'm missing or any suggestions on what's better?

Although I can't see spamming that shit for too long before your oom.

Ahh my fault. Haven't seen that in so long

Though I'm not counting on getting help for that- I know no one on the server, really. I should probably look into joining a guild...

Totally not a troll druid.
I hope...I'm tired of being a giant cowman.

I'm rolling a troll druid the moment Cata goes live, hot damn
