256-colour mode for Terminal.app without SIMBL?

Hey dudes.

So, for one of my classes, we've been tasked with designing a simple website. However the teacher wants us to use Dreamweaver, and being that I have a background in computer science and IT, I know I'd work much quicker in vim and produce better results.

The problem is, the default colour scheme is balls (the blue is too dark against the background... if I change the background, I get clashes with other colours). I've got a colour scheme I'd like to use, but it'll be useless because Terminal.app (we're working with OSX, 10.5.6 I believe) only allows 16 colours. I use SIMBL with TerminalColors on my mac at home, but being that I don't have administrator privileges, I won't be able to use that solution at school.

Google hasn't been able to provide me much help. Any of you cats got a solution?

The administrative lockdown makes it a non-starter. It's a class assignment. Do it in Dreamweaver like the teacher asks, and make this a lot easier on yourself. You're trying to fix a leaky faucet by digging up your front yard.

Plus then you can throw Dreamweaver knowledge on your resume.

Never turn down an opportunity to learn a new skill/piece of software. Or to find an example of using said software on a project/assignment to use when applying for jobs. :)
